The big problem with these right/left media diagrams is they show the viewpoint but not the value or honesty. The Guardian is an indisputable source of factual news and it is in "lean left" while most of the items in "lean right" are bought propaganda or fantasy. Would you trust "Epoch Times?" You need an honesty axis. These diagrams are mostly disseminated to give credence to the right wing propaganda outfits. Hmm, I guess I can't really get through the Atlantic, either, though at least it cites sources. On the right you have corporate creations like OAN, and propaganda like Fox op ed. You have to consider the viewership, as well. Fox op ed is crazily popular, and it is openly dishonest. Hosts who are fine with the Fox vaccine mandate, and happily vaccinated telling others that they shouldn't vaccinate and that the vaccine is toxic level dishonest. On the left you have "The New Yorker" that cites sources in detail. Sigh.
We are fortunate, in Canada, to have the CBC that actively searches out various viewpoints. They bring in people who are accepted on different ends of the spectrum, not people who have a viewpoint that they agree with. On the other hand we have the National Post that is now included in lots of other media, like the Gazette, that has no such qualms. Remember when the Gazette was bought by Canwest Global and the journalists with integrity all said that they couldn't cope with the editorial guidelines and quit? Deep sigh....
