yeah, even if tournament goes ahead as planned/or is moved to another location, Hockey Canada should just take a pass. not worth exposing players to unnecessary travel this spring. The best option would be just to cancel the tournament and move hosting cities back a year. Hopefully the world will be back to normal by spring 2021.

Switzerland also stops the hockey-season because under the state of emergency which currenctly affetcs two teams (Lugano and Ambri) they're not allowed to do trainings. And there is a good chance that the state of emergency will be extended to the whole country.

That's what I really hope far as a Swiss living in Zurich, waited for it top happen here for years. But Swiss media so far reported that there's not much of a chance of moving the hosting cities back.

U18 WHC officially cancelled with USA's decision to not let most of the Europe into the country.

That ban ends 30 days of tomorrow ( 13th March) so it's over in April 13th or April 14th.
And U18 WJC's starts 16th April that means there's still 2 days left before the tournament starts.

And if teams can't get ready in days 2 then something is terribly wrong.
Travelling from Finland to USA won't take 2 days so don't panic yet.

Meanwhile in Finland it looks like the confirmed cases have been isolated properly and there are no containment pockets or areas. I forgot where I read it and who said it but right now it's seems unlikely that sporting events will be cancelled or played without spectators in Finland.

2018 was something talk of high nuclear radius level in Chelyabinsk area which caused concerns
and still U18 WJC's was played as planned.

So can we just wait when IIHF and USA hockey
officially announce the cancellation of 2020 U18 WJC's
and not panic and shit in our pants right now.

The population of USA is 330 million people
so the odds of that half or even one quarter of the total USA population
Is or would be exposed to Korona virus is not very large or even likely.

There could still be neutral and corona free areas in USA which can host U18 WJC's
if / when AnnArbor and Plymouth are under of corona infection.

If / when IIHF decides not to play U18 WJC's next month
how about wait that corona pandemic is over and postpone that tournament in July / August.

Corona virus is dangerous only for people who has diabetes or cardiovascular disease.
Especially older peoples age over 60 yrs old are at risk for the more dangerous Corona virus

Players in U18 WJC's are about 16 to 18 yrs old kids
so how likely is it even half of those people
would already have cardiovascular disease or diabetes at that age.

I am not panicking lmao. It is common sense. It is not wise to travel at the moment.

Take your head out of ass
and start realize that the USA's corona-virus situation could be totally different next month what it is now.
A lot can change in 30 days so lets wait and see what's going to happen.

Bye
And have a nice day.
