Foudy and berni didn't play any major stand out role I guess but both russian got assist

They did play well and major roles...they just didn't score any points. Berni, as mentioned before, led Switzerland in icetime and Foudy was 2nd among Canadian forwards in icetime (16:53). Only Veleno played more. Both players are clearly trusted and key elements of their teams which is a good sign.

I guess I didn't mean major roles. just they didn't play minutes that allowed them to be flashy. mostly against other country top line for both.

Canada
Foudy was probably Canada's best skater today. Disruptive and creating chances. I loved that simple little play on the empty net goal too, really quick thinking

I know. I was like you, calling out Dubois back then. Just implying that the WJC is to be taken with a grain of salt.
They are only taken with a grain of salt when the player doesn't live up to expectations.

some collective stats

the 4 of them are at ppg together in 14 total games

4G 10A 14P 18PM +13 42SOG 2GWG 19M49S/G

Voronkov has a relatively bad faceoff % at 46 but he is no1 +/- in the tourney.
Foudy doesnt take faceoff sadly.

Berni is 5th TOI and 3rd if you don't count the Kazakh guys.

Marchenko is 2nd in SOG overall.

Foudy is 3rd in TOI for team canada forwards

Columbus doesn't have the deepest pool of prospect for sure but they manage to show up some good thing here.

Voronkov/Berni feels like steal if they keep this up and the other two still live up to being 1st/2nd rounder.

Karlberg is pretty much the only one that hit a wall of the junior prospects.

Berni also stepped up with a beautiful primary assist against Finnland when he put the puck right on Knak's stick on the 4th goal. That goal was clutch. Berni didn't create much offensively until then and this was just his second assist but he delivered right when he needed to, especially with the injury to Gross.

That's actually not even true. My bad. Was his third assist. Now has 3 assists in 4 games. Interesting game tomorrow from a Columbus perspective...but pay attention. Noticed just now that the game starts 12:30 local time. Wtf is this?

Pretty exciting that at tne moment we have the top two leading points guys for russia in Voronkov and Marchenko.

Foudy is playing well for a 18th rounder. Lot of top 10 pics playing for Canada at the moment.

Berni might be another deep d prospect for us.

How can people hate jarmo. Our d has never been so deep.

At least we have some young talent in our prospect pool

Both Russians were very good and Voronkov's PP-goals were the difference. Berni wasn't on the ice on the first two goals. He was on the 3rd but nothing the Swiss could have done there. Bang bang play by the Russians. Berni was outstanding today...prevented many high danger chances with good stick work. Sadly he failed to score on an almost empty net after joining the rush. Didn't get all of it and hit Askarov instead. If he scores there and the Swiss don't take that boneheaded too many men penalty early in the 2nd who knows what happens. But the Russians deserve to win because their special teams were excellent today which hasn't always been the case.

Marchenko was very good this game. Had 2-3 good scoring chances and hit a post. More impressive than Voronkov imo.

Berni was very good, had a great active stick and should have scored on an open net but his shot was a straight muffin lol.
