I know nothing about this player other than his statistics, but I like the fact that it's a potential diamond in the rough bottom-6 forward at a low cap hit (if he makes the team). At least trying to be creative and improve the roster without much cap space to work with. Not ready to pencil him into the lineup just yet though.

That's what I'm saying. Kelly is a centre who's been playing LW because of Soda. Maybe this guy could play LW with Spoons.

We don't know if Joona can play wing though...he could be a bit like Soda who is average at wing but put him in C and he is much better. Not as versatile etc, we all know Cage is versatile whatever the position. Hell, Kelly could play D if he wanted to, and if his contract was cut in half everyone would love him, we all love him we just hate the contract, its not his fault.

He's natural C. I wouldn't move him to wing tbh. I'm 100% sure he had other options than Bruins as well so he probably saw Bruins was the best option for him. I think that tells he's got a chance to make the bottom 6.

He was the most dominant center in Liiga this year. He played crazy minutes in the playoffs and he was still going like a train. He's got great attitude and work ethic even though I can already see you guys making fun of his interviews lol. Not the most verbal guy even with his natural language. Can't imagine how's his english is haha

He is GREAT at killing penalties so even if (yes that's an if) he doesn't produce points he'll be a great shut down center for you.

edit: Forgot to mention that even though he's already 27 he's been progressing every year and I expect him to take another step this summer.

Followed Formula 1 for over 20 years, in that time my two favourites (both McLaren drivers) were Mika Hakkinen and Kimi Raikkonen, im well accustomed to Finns and their lack of 'talking' to media haha

He has been playing FEL for approx 8 years now and until last year he was reliable for defence but lacking in offense. This year he finally made it and was the best two-way center in FEL. He is excelent in PK, FO and is very good at protecting the puck. He is physical enough to play in NHL but he isn't hitting machine like Komarov. He also can play big minutes, in playoffs in Finland he regularly played over 20 minutes per game. I have never seen him play other than C, so you can forget LW. I think you got a good 4th line C who can help you in PK's, with the upside being a 3rd.

I've been following Kepu for years since he comes from my favorite team.

As someone said don't look at his career stats beacuse he is a late bloomer and played most of his career in Kärpät's stacked team on 3rd and 4th line. Last season he was teams no.1 center and won the championship.

Kepu is elite at faceoffs and in front of the net, strong at board battles and is a pk monster. Also he is excellent in power play in the war zone. He has size and can hit but is not particulary aggressive hitter. He has good all round skills, shot, vision, skating but is not elite in them.

My prediction is 3rd line center with upside for 2nd. We'll see.

Great signing, I must start to follow Bruins more closely :handclap:

From the clip, looks already like a very big upgrade on Campbell as 4th line C.

Depends on what you want in a 4th line center. ...I'm still a bit lost on how a guy who was a fan favourite for a long time (still is to me), lost pretty much all fan support from what Ive read here this year.

...not a Campbell thread I suppose, so I'll stop there. :)

He does look pretty promising in the clips though.

If only Kimi Raikkonen played Ice Hockey
Kimi did play hockey but he didn't want to wake up early for morning practice so he decided to focus on motor sports.

YLE (Finnish national broadcasting company) interviewed Kemppainen. He said that:
- he's going to stay in NA the whole season, reckons that he may play some games in the AHL
- the Bruins are going to give him a chance to show what he's got and everything after that depends on how he does
