First push-ups and now concentrating on shootouts...
Mike Santorelli is the only Canuck to score more than one shootout goal this season — he has two in eight attempts — but is out for the season after shoulder surgery Jan. 30 to repair a labrum tear. Ryan Kesler is 1-for-6 in shootouts and Daniel Sedin is 0-for-4 and the club could use a T.J. Oshie. The Canucks rank 21st with a 3-6 shootout mark — 1-3 at home and 2-3 on the road — and those lost points are becoming crucial. With 22 games remaining, the Canucks need a 14-4-4 run just to get to the 95-point postseason bar. Hence the mid-practice shootout Monday.
“We found a better way,†said Canucks coach John Tortorella, who has never warmed to the shootouts, calling them ‘a gimmick that should be out of the league’. “We did it after practice and did the ice and we’ve found a better way with it being spontaneous between the drills.â€

John Tortorella is a New Age coach. Take that Dallas Eakins. This not your father's John Tortorella.
Hey hold on... to get to a shootout do you not have to be tied at the end of regulation and OT? The Canucks have lost 7 straight games in regulation so it seems shootout practise may not be all that helpful.
Kinda brings to mind this image:
