I just realized Donskoi's contract is pretty similar to what Kerfoot signed for in TO (3.5 aav x 4y). How do the two stack up against each other?

They had pretty similar offensive production last season. So I guess it more or less comes down to the intangibles? Does Donskoi serve a second line roll better?

I like Donskoi a lot better. Bigger, stronger, more skilled, more defensive. Only thing Kerf has on him is his Haawvad education and maybe hockey IQ.

Colorado should let Donskoi shoot some on the shootouts. He's been pretty good on it in the past. If I'm not mistaken there have been at least 2 games that went to SO with Donskoi on the roster during these practice matches, but he didn't get to shoot.

Yes, Joonas Donskoi is a shootout specialist and one of the highest success rates in all of NHL.

I wonder, how has he looked in camp so far?

What are expectations for Donskoi this upcoming year?

Hopefully around 45 points. He’ll get top-6 minutes with the Avs.

And while he won’t get top PP time, he’ll certainly get more than the (0:36) he averaged last year with San Jose (a season in which he scored 37 points).

He's still really streaky...and our blueline this season won't do him nearly as many favors as SJ's did last year. If he hits 40 with everything else that he brings to the table, I'll be happy with him.
