Happy Donskoi has finally been getting some recognition.

He's had a lot of unfair criticism IMO for being inconsistent from people who aren't fans of his. All third liners are inconsistent though. That's why they're third liners.

If you look at his end of season numbers, he usually produces like a high end 3rd liner. Plus he's good in the playoffs.

He might be playing his way into being the Avs expansion loss though.

Ultimately I think he was probably about 400k overpaid but I am still very happy with the 2 years we got from him. Solid middle 6 forward that really can play up and down the lineup pretty well.

I'm sure he thought highly of him. They're just trying to clear cap and roster space for the off season so they can make some changes and re-sign their guys.

I dont know if I would go that far but Sakic for sure wanted salary off this roster. Its why he traded Graves and exposed both Donskoi and Compher.
