Why would any team help facilitate a trade like this that makes another team demonstrably better? Unless they get something back that makes them also demonstrably better. That means one team (Ottawa) gets demonstrably worse. Are things so badly run in Ottawa that they'll trade their best player just to say they got something and didn't let him walk for nothing? If I'm Ottawa, I wait til the trade deadline, when the haul for EK is likely to be higher.

Hes not signing an extension if hes moved at the deadline.

All you need to do to afford star players is move 2 of your guys in the 4-5mil range. Which is always worth it only the Bruins like overpaying third liners.

Ottawa doesn't have their pick they need a few legit players to help them win this year. My guess is Callahan is part of the deal with Ryan (and 2 other NHLers) going to Tampa making them better maybe with salary retained.

Are you ready?

I SAID Are you readyyyyyy?

Dallas and Tyler Seguin working on an extension for, get this in the neighbourhood of $10-$11 million per season.
BUT it won't be for the 8 year maximum.

Obviously he wants to get paid short term for a few years in Dallas while Don moves out Krejci and Backes' contracts.

Good guy Sequin doesn't want Don to take back bad assets in a hurried deal.

Ex-teammate's girlfriend seriously burned in accident at home of Sens' Ceci

An evening that began as a barbeque among three old hockey teammates and their significant others nearly turned fatal when a fuel accident left one of the guests engulfed in flames and fighting for her life.

The incident occurred May 9 at the home of Senators defenseman Cody Ceci. It was there where Ceci and his partner, Jamie Thompson, hosted Ceci's former Ottawa 67's teammates Ryan Van Stralen and Jake Cardwell, and their significant others, including Cardwell's girlfriend, Hana Engel.

According to The Ottawa Sun, Thompson went to refuel a fire and began to squirt fuel from a bottle onto the flame. But the stream ignited and Thompson instinctively threw the bottle away, accidentally hitting Engel.

The 24-year-old Engel became engulfed in flames, some of which Cardwell was able to put out using water from a dog's bowl a dog bowl that had been moved outside about 10 minutes earlier.

That's horrible for the girl, but come on Jamie, that's barbecuing 101 right there . . .
