Can someone who watches Arizona/New Jersey make a case from an on ice stand point about how adding Hall makes them worse? Because it seems illogical that adding a productive forward would ruin a team.

Or is there an advanced stat for measuring how badly the hockey gods don't like certain players?

That would be the god of intangibility? It’s a fascinating question from both sides eh. When Duchene was in Col and Hall in NJ the teams had poor records until they traded away the player who wanted or expected to be traded and then it was like a weight was lifted from their shoulders. You could see the effect on Ottawa of everyone realizing it was likely Karlsson’s last season here. It really seems to show the tangible value of that intangible feeling in the room.

And then when players are traded at the deadline it often seems its the key support guys like a Chris Kelly that fill a support role that become the most effective deadline pickups for top teams (Maybe partly because if top teams need a star player they aren't really ready yet?). The teams that got a star player at the deadline like a Bondra often find they need more time to integrate that star player into a role that make the team better. The intangible chemistry of a teams star players developing all year together outweighs the tangible value of the star player added at the deadline?

HRR and escrow going to take a beating with so many empty arenas for games. I wonder if they readjust the cap next year or escalator usage at least. Poor LeBron. Winning tickets from the radio station for that Sens Cali trip looks like it was just in the nick of time if the LA game goes forward as planned.

You could say the same about plenty of other star players around the league. Losing exacerbates everything.
Nope. Remember these guys are all pros and the league is quite small. Everyone has buddies around the league and they talk. Hall is different than the vast majority. For example Phil Kessel is on that team and there is night and day difference between them.

Chemistry issues plus their #1 goalie Kuemper was out for two months.

The NHL and/or more/all NHL teams should be doing this. Hearing NBA games to be played without fans to be announced

NBA is suspending their season.

Gotta think the NHL isn't far behind.

Just please let it be after tonight's games so San Jose loses to Chicago, Ottawa loses to LA and the season ends with Sharks and Sens at 29th and 30th.

But seriously this goes beyond sports. Everyone on here take care of yourselves as best you can.

Sure man, keep thinking that.

They could suspend the season and then finish it in August or something. Should be interesting.

No point in finishing it in August considering the draft is in June and I doubt they push back the draft.

We are talking about losing several hundred million dollars here. That's a good chunk of money to leave on the table.
