At this rate the Coyote pick will be our best pick because our remaining schedule is pretty easy and we have 4 games in hand on them.

I think Arizona is going to do whatever it takes to re-sign Hall, imo.

That's HF for you, lots of folks are programmed to want to be the first to tell you that a guy stinks as if it comes with some sort of medal. It's too bad the old threads aren't archived, because the Parise threads from his rookie year were splendid. Lots of "I knew he wasn't that good, that's why he fell in the draft" type of posts. In particular, I remember arguing with one Oilers fan who was adamant that Edmonton had come out with the better end of the trade down (Marc-Antoine Pouliot + J.F. Jacques).

I remember people not wanting to accept that the season was trashed after just two weeks. There was just no coming back from that collapse in the first game. Not from a mathematical standpoint obviously, but it was clear that things were going to go downhill fast.

That's a little hyperbolic. I mean, nobody enjoyed the collapse in that game and it gave everyone a dose of reality after being giddy over the offensive output, but there were plenty of followup games where there was an opportunity to right things. But the offense sputtered, the goaltending cratered, and we were done within a month or so.

The season wasn't over after Opening Night but anyone could see that was the kind of ghastly loss that 'could' start a death spiral a la our blown lead against Dallas in October 2010 which started the Mac crash landing...which it did. And yeah, after 0-4-2 it looked extremely unlikely at best this team was going to make a run and Shero pretty much cashed out on the season after two months with the Hall trade.

I simply stated that it would be impressive for another 18-year-old rookie(Seider) to get a game-misconduct and suspension his first year in the league.

Anyway, Wings fans are always going to be sore because of '95.
