Kinda funny, I guess, if you’re into fart humour like me, however this really is the definition of bad timing. ‘Too soon’.

If everybody in the video consented to being a part of the video and had no problem with what they saw, I have absolutely no problem with this. I can see why people are angry about this, given the recent outburst of workplace sexual harassment that we've seen, and the fact that the leader of the free world admitted to committing workplace sexual harassment regularly. I can also understand why people don't think it's okay to make light of something like this; people who have experienced workplace sexual harassment are seriously traumatized. Some have lost their job because they wouldn't have sex with their boss! It's not something to joke about at all.

I don't have a problem with Kesler or the Ducks doing this but the backlash is partially justified due to the prominence of workplace sexual harassment.

Hit the nail on the head here. Sports is a much bigger entity than ever, and organizations are held accountable to the same standard. I can understand why some may be offended.

I don't understand it. How does walking around naked celebrate 100 years?

Being naked is called your “birthday suit”.

It’s an awful joke, honestly. Not worth the time and cost of producing a commercial. My guess is the marketing office wanted whatever would draw the most eyeballs, and settled on a naked person.

In fact it's usually only a minority who are very vocal on twitter exc. It's sad how a few whiny sjws have such a huge power since companies are scared of the backlash getting bigger.
It's even more hilarious that those sjws then protest by getting nude such as feminists do to protest "sex object" mentality. It is so hypocritical its hilarious.

If Kesler had walked up to that secretary and said something along the lines of "hey baby you like what you see? how bout we head back to my place and I can show you a LOT more" then I could understand the outrage. but this is nothing, I'm offended that people are offended. The NHL and the Ducks have no reason to apologize for this, I say they make a part 2 for 101 years. :naughty: .. Man I miss the 90's.

kinda above .500. if you consider 10 wins and 13 losses "above" .500.

also Manson is not one of the ducks top 3 dmen? I thought he was a #2 guy?
Manson is certainly not ahead of Lindholm or Fowler. #3 on the Ducks at best.

I think the only reason why certain people "flipped out" over this silly, immature attempt at humor is due to what has been in the news of late with the Harvey Weinstein and Charlie Rose sexual harassment outings.

Clearly, that was not what was intended with this dumb joke, but the suggestive nature (which is what Charlie Rose apparently did, walking around naked in front of his female assistants), is what triggered the over-reactive types to think that the Ducks are tone deaf.

The Ducks also have the worst social media team in sports, so it isn't that surprising to see how inept they are.

Nah he was offended that I referred to vatanen as our #3... which I suppose is fair... an argument could be made for either vatanen or manson as our #3
Yeah, that's what I thought. I think it's a toss up as to who is the #3 between Vats and Manson. I'd personally say Vatanen, but I'm biased since he's my favourite Duck.

huh? They're only hypocrites because of your baseless assumption that they're the exact same people doing both.

As for this stunt, as others have said it's not that big of a deal but incredibly tone deaf by the Ducks. When every week in the press you hear about some guy getting naked at work and forcing women to watch him masturbate or shower or whatever, Kesler walking around nude suddenly has a whole different connotation.

The funniest thing about that was that one of those "tweets" was 160 characters long, and the only real tweet that they used was from a team employee.
The whole thing was very cringe worthy... I wish wed just embrace our villain reputation.

North American prudishness will probably never cease to amaze me.

America is still stuck in puritanical times when it comes to nudity. Streaking used to be a prank that drunk and inhibition-less people did; now it's sexual harassment. But yeah, Twitter allows the perpetually morally outraged to amplify their voices. I'm not surprised at this reaction.

I mean the Kings mascot just got accused of sexual harassment/assault why don't you make a thread about that?

What a bunch of nonsense. There's a real issue with men abusing their power / status and harassing women sexually. Ryan Kesler walking around naked in an office in a lighthearted stunt has nothing to do with it.

Also America, nudity is not that scary, really.

Your suggestion is to have him expose himself... in public... outside... in a park.... where children are? And that is somehow better than him walking around in the office with consenting adults because why? I guess I'll never understand the "logic" of triggered people.

Point taken about exposing himself in public rather than indoors around adults -- but understand that the idea I was trying to get at here is that it really didn't need to be in an office in the context of what's been going on. It could have been done differently (casually walking around at a teammate's house, whatever) -- that's all I am trying to say. The "birthday suit" comic angle I generally view as being pretty harmless when done right.

I don't really consider myself a "triggered" person, and I generally don't associate with the crowd people consider "SJWs" -- I actually wasn't offended by the ad at all in itself. But I could understand why people were bothered by it or why it was being called out as tone deaf.
