1. It would be nice to keep Forsling, but possibly not the end of the world to lose him either. Especially if Montour can be extended.Given the new signings what has changed?
- Forsling has become a top D
- Bennett and Verhaege are definitely being protected
- Do we protect Hornqvist?
- Will Yandle waive his NMC?
- Could we use cap retention to get rid of Stralman?
- Zito sent away a good bit of futures recently: what do we sell to Seattle?
3. There is no reason to protect Hornqvist. His leadership is awesome, but he won't get better on the ice and his cap hit is massive for two more years. I doubt Seattle would take him, but that would also mean we keep Forsling.
4. I keep expecting him not too, but it's unlikely Seattle would take him and it would be a nice gesture after the team has treated Yandle well this year.
5. I assume Stralman will be bought out. It would cut his cap hit by more than half next year and only add $1.5M the year after.
