There is no way ESPN will use any of its 25 games per season to broadcast canadian teams.

Probably not, I do expect some Oilers, Leafs, and Canadiens games on the ESPN+ exclusive games though

Yeah on ESPN+ seems more likekly. Btw anybody knows if ESPN pr publishes numbers from ESPN+? It would be intresting to see them when the season begins and compared them to linear tv.

Right I've seen a good amount of north division games on ESPN+ this season but I'm pretty sure that unless that they put Toronto v Montreal or Toronto v Edmonton they won't put those games on the 75 exclusives for streaming.

They won’t even pull those matchups for the “exclusives.” That would be wasting one of the exclusive slots and spending money to produce the game for a game that would already be exclusive to ESPN+ in the US as part of the other 1,000 games it is getting. It would add any additional subscriptions as the people most interested (fans of this teams who are in the US) would likely be subscribing for the out of market games. They get the same benefit leaving it as one of the non-exclusives and taking the SN/TSN broadcast.

Those are the exclusive games on NBCSN, most games are not exclusive in at least one team area.

Yeesh these have been a bad run of ratings the past month. The NBCSN average is now down to 307k after being up around 360k to start the year. Good thing there was that winter classic game that ended up being moved to NBCSN cause that's keeping the NBCSN average from being sub 300k.

Also considering for the non exclusive games both local markets are probably pulling 20-30k each on average for local RSN ratings. So for most of these games that are non exclusive you can add another 50-60k to these numbers but still yeesh.

I know the BlackHawks can average close to 100k or up to 125k on their RSN in their better years so maybe that game with the Canes pulled another 100k when both markets are added, with most of that coming from BlackHawk RSN numbers.

All in all not really the kind of stretch you want to be in if your the NHL and are looking for big bucks on the second package, especially if we're trying to get NBC to up their offer; as its been said they're far apart.

Hope things can get going again, wish I was a Nielsen house.
