Folks are checked out til the playoffs it seems.
If some or most are this bored already, what will a full season reveal, one demanding more long-term attention, with suddenly some 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm starts for east coast American viewers, especially with Seattle arriving?

you are only a troll

I assume the tweet has the correct numbers with the Bruins at number 1 with a 4.2 TV rating. I heard yesterday that the Red Sox is only averaging around a 2.1 rating for 25-54 age group. They definitely have a more aging demographic than other sports. That seems to be one of reasons ESPN paired back baseball to add the NHL.

Also to kill off a competitor sports network NBCSN. That was priceless for them, the sports media industry is cut throat.

Don't get too boastful, Bruins fans:

The Bruins leading the Celtics and even the Red Sox is very deceptive.

Thus year, all Bruins away evening games have required only a 7 pm or maybe 7:30 pm viewership commitment.

Whereas Celtics are playing some games against the western teams, thus their fans have had to watch games starting no earlier than 8:00 pm to maybe as late as 10:30 pm.

Plus, as someone mentioned in the tweet, Sox have play several day games so far, even weekdays.

Plus, if the Bruins and Celtics had 6-7 games weekly as the Red Sox have, the Bruins and Celtics ratings would be much lower. Similarly, if the Red Sox only played three times per week, their rating would be much higher, likely well ahead of Bruins and Celtics ratings.

Also, much of the Bruins and Red Sox seasons have been played, establishing an allegiance from their fans. Sox are still warming up, and when they get to 80% of their season and are playing well, their rating will be much higher than now, especially with Yankees and even Houston games which haven't been played yet.

Yes, the Bruins get shifted to NESN plus when airing versus the Red Sox games on NESN, and that may hurt their rating. Celtics have an advantage unlike the Bruins when airing against Red Sox ganes, as the Celtics get to stay on their regular NBCSports Boston channel and not the "plus" version as the Bruins get moved to.

Likely because draft coverage pushed everything down the Top 150 charts, less viewership is needed the later and earlier you go in the day time and late evenings, hence why the late night game charted vs the more competitive 7-10pm prime time hours. You generally won't crack the the Top 150 with sub 100k viewership from 2-10pm.

Not bad for NBC sports Network. Any idea What the peak viewership was for the quarter hours?

Gee, I was hoping for 700,000 to 900,000 with the two big markets and lots of hype.

Was that really just too much to ask?

Am I the only one disappointed, almost shocked?

Damn!
