after some bumpy starts the last few games, Dobes has given up 5 goals over his last 3 starts, before that he let in 15 in 4 games but we have to keep in mind he leads the USHL in minutes played so that heavy work load may have gotten to him as before the 15 goals in 4 games, only twice all season did he let in more then 3 in a game. Really can't wait to see him at Ohio St next year.

The playoffs in the MHL have started. Today is Game 1 between SKA-1946 and Almaz.

Unfortunately, Gordin isn't in the line-up. He's missed a few games not long ago, so I'd imagine he's nursing an injury.

I see Mass.-Lowell playing Tuch and B.U. on Sunday as well as Harris and Struble at Massachusetts. Then a TBD opponent for CC and Wisconsin on Monday.

Here's where all the prospects stand -

Euro -

Dichow - season over, team didn't make playoffs
Gordin - injured most likely, teams in 1st round of MHL playoffs
Ikonen - missed the last few, back in the lineup today, they have 14 more games after today. His team is in a very tight race for the playoffs, as they sit in 7th place (6 teams make it, but 8th to 3rd are separated by just 4 pts)
Olofsson - plays today, has 1 more game left after today then the playoffs start, if they win they will face the last place SHL team to try and get promoted next year, his team has dominated Allsvenskan this year.
Norlinder - plays tomorrow, has 4 games left before the playoffs, Frolunda has slipped from 1st place to 7th place, but only 1 pt back of 5th. if they finish between 7th-10th then they are in the play ins, as a best of 3 series, the 2 winners then advance to the regular playoffs.

NCAA -

NCHC- Biondi's team finished 3rd and plays Saturday in the playoffs, it used to be a best of 3 but due to covid they are doing single elimination games. They get Western Michigan. winners play on the 15th and then the NCHC championship game is on the 16th. Due to his team being ranked so high they are a lock for the NCAA tournament on the 26th/27th no matter what.

Big 10 - Caufield/Gorniak, since their team won the big 10, they play Monday at 4:30 pm EST, vs the winner of Notre Dame/Penn St series. If they win they play in the Big 10 Championship game on the 16th at 8 pm. They are a lock for the NCAA tournament on the 26th/27th no matter what.

Hockey East- Harris/Struble, play Sunday at 4:30 pm vs UMass, they must win to have any hope of making the NCAA tournament. If they lose their season is over.

Tuch will play Sunday at 1 pm vs Lowell, they will be in the NCAA tournament no matter what.


USHL -

I'm not sure what they are doing for Clarke Cup playoffs this year, the season ends in April.

WHL - Guhle's season starts tonight.
Fairbother's season starts in one week.

OHL - still waiting for official start

not unless they change the rules as the OHL banned all Euros this season due to covid. I'd have to look up the exact wording, but I seem to recall no Euros will be allowed to come over.

- Pitlick had a goal and an assist last night in a 7-2 win against Omaha. He was named 3rd star.

He has 8 pts in his last 8 GP. He has 16 pts (4G, 12A) in 18 GP since he was traded to Tri-City.

On the season, split between Muskegon and Tri-City, he has 30 pts (11G, 19A) in 35 GP.

- It wasn't Dobes who started for Omaha. But the other goalie got pulled after two periods and Dobes came in for the 3rd. He allowed 2 goals on 9 shots against for .778 SV% in that one period.

- Guhle had an assist and was +2 and had 3 SOG in PA's 6-3 win on Regina on opening night.

I didn't see the game but Frolunda loses 3-0 and Norlinder a -3 on the night. ouch.

I watched some of the Biondi game last night, he didn't get to play much as at least 2 or 3 times he had a penalty called early in his shift and since he doesn't play either special teams it means he would sit for the next 4-5 mins. That said he did have one shift where they got a 2 on 1 and his linemate got the puck over the D's stick but it bounced on Biondi and he whiffed or else he likely has a tap in goal.

His team won in OT.
