BPA IMO but man.. I'm still gonna be annoyed if it's another winger lol.
There's a solid group of defenseman in this class... Robertson, Harley, Korczak, Kokkonen, York, Soderstrom, Seider, Kolyachonok, and Vukojevic. Plus Broberg may be the type to fall to where Pulock fell to come draft day.

I think centers like Suzuki and Zegras will be out of reach if we make the playoffs. Not too enamored with Guskov from what I've seen, there isn't anything that stands out about his game. I'm not sure there will be a center available where we'll be in the 1st, but there are some interesting center options beyond the 1st round like McMichael, Abramov, Alexandrov, Zaytsev, etc.

Anyone knows who is the best skaters in the top 31 over 6'2 with good hockey IQ and notable puck handling skills (without any attitude problems)? Any position except goalies, preferable LW/Center and LHD. If centre ability to win face-off & PK would be a bonus.

By all Accounts he’s one of the most polished goalies to come along in a while. That being said, I don’t think it’s a great idea to take a goalie in the first round.
agreed.... id only do this is there was no good C option sitting there. and hopefully we'll be picking late first so it might be the goalie spot

say the season finished out and the draft order is as it is today, would anyone have a problem adding spencer knight? can't have enough goalie prospects

Aside from the general consideration that it's rarely wise to use your first rounder on a goalie, I'm not really sure there's any reason for using higher picks on goalies when you've got kids like Sorokin and Skarek in the system? Due to the length involved in developing them and how many years can end up being invested in a goaltender, a system doesn't necessarily have to be stocked with them.

If Soderstrom ever gets his issues cleared up, then we've got an above average crop of goaltenders.

Then again, didn't Lou once grab Brodeur?

He may see things differently if a kid (perhaps a Spencer Knight) were to be truly special.

I wouldn't bet on the team feeling a need to grab a goalie at that juncture of next summer's draft.

i love the BPA approach, but it very well could be spencer knight. I read recently if teams weren't so skittish of taking goalies in the first he'd probably be a first round pick. That combined with the Sorokin uncertainty id have no problem taking him. Not like skarek or soderstrom are sure things

THE DRAFT CAN WAIT POEM ( why not )

As the new car smell begins to fade
And the fans realize there will be no parade
We are tied with the Rangers I wish they would die
Poor Gremlin Grabner got whacked in the eye
We look at the prospects ,the future , the draft
And wished Kate Murray was adrift on a raft
As we start to climb up , to the bottom, the floor
Our chances with ping pong balls becomes more
If we draft a D man it takes 5 years to make it
An Easy Bake oven takes 5 minutes to bake it
But wait it's not over the draft thread can hold
I want one more cup before I'm too old
There's 5 months to go so much hockey to see
Those darn water pills now I gotta go pee
With Barry and Lou I hope we are great
We trade off our first for a guy that can skate
The playoffs are here and draft will not matter
I lay on the couch and keep getting fatter
Round one round two we're in the east finals
It's up north to play a team with no spinals
As Hickey lays out PJ boy 91
Holy crap we are great and hockey is fun
Win or lose in the finals the season was top
When our team is called up take the best of the crop
The draft the draft will be in the summer
To select someone now just couldn't be dumber

Happy Holidays

Nice poem Sparks rus
You almost got us
Little bit too optimistic for my liking
Maybe instead of couch you should go hiking.
Fresh air might clear your head.
One more lose and this season is dead.
Just like the guy who used to wear C.
Too much beer, I too need to go pee.

Buffalo should grab Spencer Knight

That’s actually a team in the rare case I think should/could gamble on a goalie in the first round of said goalie was so highly regarded.

They have multiple 1st round pics and are already deep and flush with young talent. They’re set all over the ice except in net.

Good call Kevin.

We traded it at the deadline for Duchene, who wore Goring's #91. He signed a 6-year extension and we will win 4 straight Cups. Toronto media started calling JT "the flannel failure" in the 3rd year and drove him into switching to the NLL, where he played for his uncle. Aryne sued for divorce and started a relationship with Matthews, saying she always preferred to stay in NY anyhow.

I’d sacrifice one of my weaker family memebers for this to happen.

NHL Central Scouting has announced its official midterm rankings for the upcoming 2019 NHL Draft, and, to nobody’s surprise, Jack Hughes holds the No. 1 spot. The NTDP Under-18 Team forward and brother of Michigan defenseman Quinn is the first current NTDP player ranked No. 1 in the midterms since Erik Johnson (No. 1 overall to St. Louis) in 2006.

Does anyone know anything about Philip Tomasino? Looked through centers who may be available in the 20-30 range, and he came up. Looks like he's on a really deep Niagara team, and probably isn't playing top line minutes. Impossible to tell whether his production is explained by his talent or by those surrounding him.
