I don’t think I’m too “stingy” over prospects by any means, but if I’m Vancouver I wouldn’t trade Tyler Madden straight up for TT. Looks like he’s being moved along with a 2nd. That’s a big rental price for a secondary tier rental.

What is Benning doing though? Paying a top prospect and a 2nd for a rental? Does he think he's going to win the cup?

I honestly think Habs fans overrating of Price is by far the craziest player evaluation I've seen in an incredibly long time.

His contract is legitimately one of the worst in the league. Overr 10M for a goalie well past his prime and signed for 6 more years. It's actually laughable how bad a deal it is.

And meanwhile you have Habs fans who really do think they could get Byram + 1st ++ for him.

So out of touch with reality it's incredible.

Who would be “our Tyler Madden”?
Probably Timmins, Madden isn't their best prospect but he's up there.

They're the most delusional fanbase on here in terms of gauging their player's value IMO.

I don't think that is that great of a deal for LA. I don't think it is setting a seller's market.

The pre deadline deals are always interesting. They're not always an indicator of deadline prices though.

Sometimes teams get steals by trading early. Other times teams give up way more than comparable players go for at the deadline.

When things get down to the wire, and time is a factor, things tend to change. All these teams making pre deadline deals means there may be fewer buyers at the deadline, which could drive prices down.

We've seen selling GM's be too patient and miss the deadline to move their player because of it. Nobody wants to be that guy, and sometimes that leads to GM's just taking one of the deals on the table.
