The pre deadline deals are always interesting. They're not always an indicator of deadline prices though.
Sometimes teams get steals by trading early. Other times teams give up way more than comparable players go for at the deadline.
When things get down to the wire, and time is a factor, things tend to change. All these teams making pre deadline deals means there may be fewer buyers at the deadline, which could drive prices down.
We've seen selling GM's be too patient and miss the deadline to move their player because of it. Nobody wants to be that guy, and sometimes that leads to GM's just taking one of the deals on the table.
