Lavoie scored in an 8-2 loss. Very strong start to the season for him despite playing on a poor team.

A glimmer of hope!

Matt Cairns had 1 goal and 2 assists in Cornell's exhibition game vs Nipissing(Ontario college) today.

Cornell and Yale(Kemp's team) start their seasons next Friday.

Blumel is on the Czech U20 national team roster.

He has 2 points in 6 games in CZE Extraliga. Still don’t understand his decision, I would rather see him in the NCAA.

I think the school he had committed to wasn’t one known for developing hockey players.

Yeah. The University of Connecticut has only ever produced one NHLer(Todd Krygier) and that was in the mid '80s. Tage Thompson has a good chance to be the second. The program has improved lately, but it's still a very low-end NCAA team.

I was hoping he'd de-commit from UConn to join his buddy, Mazura, at Providence, but I'd say the Czech league is a decent alternative.

Lavoie is up to 6'5" now and from what I read, his skating was average. He has a great shot, has size, uses his body well to protect pucks & drive the net... add skating and the guy looks like a surefire NHLer. It's great to see Lavoie is taking the initiative and working with Pelletier during the season (I usually hear about players doing that in the off-season).

Has he been playing C or RW for Halifax?

He's been playing RW with Bo Groulx(Anaheim 2018 2nd rounder) at center, I believe.

@ImmuneEH @McDNicks17

I have seen him play various times and he has a great set of hands. Skating needs improving but this kid is good. I have not been to a game in Halifax this season. I might wait for Rimouski in February. I think that Lavoie will probably be traded to a better contending team. Halifax hosted last year so it could be time to rebuild

Lavoie is off to a great start

22 points in 13 games. 10 goals, just continuing to score goals like he did during the 2019 QMJHL playoffs.

@oilers'72 has provided us a valuable service and I will attempt to repay the debt when I can. It's early yet, not too much to be decided yet other than Lavoie, Yamamoto, Bouchard and Puljujarvi are off to good starts for their respective situations.

Lavoie is hot right now, Konovalov seems to have bounced back from a horrendous start. Yamamoto seems to have cooled off lately. Puljujarvi continues to score goals that don't happen on this side of the ocean.

Between training camp and overall a slow start for the vast majority of our prospects... it's a bit disappointing.

Lavioe doing the best. Some ok.

Thank goodness for Bear. Certainly makes for a good boost to our system if he can continue to have success.

It's early still thankfully for a lot of them.

The WJC will show us how a lot of our prospects really are. Hopefully Lavoie goes and shows well. Hopefully Broberg manages more than a #6 defender role as well.

Our Bakersfield guys are all off to a relatively slow start however the guys new to the team get more of a pass from me as they are new pros. Guys like Benson, Marody and Yamamoto get less. It was nice to see Yamamoto score a few early but he has been quiet for the last few too. Up and down season and all though, lots of time for them to show more

World Juniors doesn't show anything.
