Wrt Durant, he has left a ton of money on the table to take deals in GS.

People would talk if he only played for the money. He was a fa and at least didn't treat OKC the way Tavares treated the Isles.

He gave them a lot more false hope than Durant did, imo.

Durant was a bit more open about leaving while Tavares asked not to be traded and made numerous statements saying he was an Islander for life.
Agree to disagree. For me, what Durant did would be like Tavares leaving the Islanders and then signing with the Rangers.

How? Rangers suck.
In terms of pure rivalry with them. Obviously there's no true comparable for the Islanders because they suck and didn't have a playoff opponent like OKC did with GS. But from a pure "this guy is a snake" standpoint, I think going to the Rangers would be as close as it gets to what KD did going to GS.

I guess it was worth a shot. It's funny how they tried to hire Hinkie's good buddy Morey to replace Colangelo, who replaced Hinkie after the league office forced him out.

Can't blame Tavares. Snow is a gutless prick who let his star player become UFA.

Trade between Memphis and Sacramento

from espn.com

The Sacramento Kings have traded guard Garrett Temple to the Memphis Grizzlies for guard Ben McLemore, forward Deyonta Davis, a 2021 second-round draft pick and cash.

Temple, 32, gives the Grizzlies one more versatile, veteran wing as they reshape the roster to try to return to the Western Conference playoffs this season.

Temple averaged 8.4 points in 25 minutes per game for the Kings last season. Along with the signing of Spurs free agent Kyle Anderson, the Grizzlies are fortifying wing spots to support the return of point guard Mike Conley and center Marc Gasol.

The Grizzlies will be Temple's seventh NBA team in nine seasons.

The deal clears an additional $1 million in salary-cap space for the Kings, who now have $20.5 million.

McLemore returns to the Kings, who drafted him seventh overall in 2013. He played for Sacramento until signing a free-agent deal with Memphis in 2017.

Davis, 21, was the No. 31 overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft and struggled to gain traction in the Grizzlies' rotation.

Huh? This dude just backed out of his Sixers deal to return to Europe and now he might be headed to the Kings. He did say the one year part was difficult for him so maybe he'll get a multi-year deal now.

Why does this feel like he had decided to go back to europe, but when the Kings realized that they wouldn't get Smart either, they threw a stupid enough offer to sway him again, instead.

He's gonna cry in his multi-million dollar yacht, more likely.

He's overcome worse embarrassment, though.

The weird thing is that Sixers and Knicks fans get excited about guys such as him and Hezonja.

Go to the Rangers forum.

There's a shit-ton of knicks fans, so there's gunna be a lot of homers, that doesn't mean they represent the majority of our fanbase :dunno:

And IIRC it was just the one guy who's convinced Hezonja will have a 20pt year hyping that signing as anything more than a gamble that it was nice to see the franchise only throw 1 year at.
