Gildon had an assist in a 6-3 loss tonight. 5 goals, 20pts in 25 games.

Bednard wins again, 3-1, saving 19/20 shots. 15-5-3 with .927 SV% and 1.78 GAA, 3 SO's.

Hutsko had an assist in a 2-1 loss. 4 goals, 16pts in 26 games. Been a disappointing year for him imo. Had 12 goals, 31 pts in 37 games last year. Was also a +10 player last year and now a -9. Haven't followed BC but seems hes hig a wall or BC just isnt as good this year.

AHL:

SPR with a big comeback, down 3-0 to tie it, only to lose in a SO, 4-3. Hunt, Thompson and Bystrom go 0-3 in the SO and Monty let one in on two shooters but saved 42/45 in regulation. Gonna be a bad end to the year for him and the team if they can't turn it around, they're 9 pts out of 8th now, playing 56 of 76 games.

Hunt with his 21st goal/38th point, he really wants a 4th line spot in FLA next year. Just 2 goals from tying his career best last year.

MacDonald with his 23rd helper/35th point on the 2nd SPR goal. (PP)

Wideman with his 10th assist on the 3rd goal, been a decent pick up for them, 3 goals, 13pts in 16 games.
Greco with his 18th assist/37th point on the goal as well.

INTL:

Heponiemi held without a point in a 3-1 loss. Jokinen with the lone Karpat goal
Denisenko off until Monday

College:

Gildon needs to be with SPR next year, UNH lose 6-0 tonight and he's clearly held without a point on a very meh team. No need for him to play on a bad team when SPR should be better next year with some decent internal additions.

Bednard playing in back to back games, another fairly easy night, saving 22/24 in regulation and the extra sessions to help his team to a 3-2 OT2 win. improving to a 16-5-3 record.

Finkelstein with an assist for BC's lone goal, 1 goal, 7pts in 14 games.
Hutsko held without a point in the 2-1 OT loss for BC.

OHL:

As pointed out above, Tippett with a big night, the natural assist-trick and then his 30th goal as a empty netter. Has been on a tear since going through that 8 game goal drought. 8 goals, 17 pts in his last 7 games, 60 pts in only 44 games.

Big Christmas with the night off but him and Tippett will face each other tomorrow night. Will probably watch the game.

Have to wonder why they won't give McDonald a chance? Wondering why the Stillman callup?

SPR has been struggling to produce offense and MacDonald is a solid AHL offensive defenseman.

Stillman plays a similar style to McCoshen and Brown which we need on bottom pairing.
It's pretty cool to see him up so soon, though obviously injuries/trades have played a part. He can get a brief taste and then continue working on his game in the AHL; see you again in two years.

His dad played in the NHL? I would have kept him where he was and let him develop seems a bit soon and not sure if he will have much impact.

He'll finish the year and next year in SPR. Just a rookie, we had two D out and he got his first game in. MacDonald had the same treatment but McCoshen and Brown are more experienced and outside last night and parts of the Coyotes game, they've been decent on bottom pairing. Weegar is slightly better than both of those two. Need to find an eventual replacement for Yandle and one can hope that will be Gildon or Ekblad will assume the role if he works on his skating and puck handling skills.

Springfield with a big 5-1 win tonight.

Zolnierczyk opens scoring form Schemitsch and Thompson
Dea scores his 7th, the 2nd SPR goal from Greco and Bystrom
MacDonald with his 13th goal!! (he had 20 last year) from Mangene and Praplan
Lammikko scores the 4th goal, his 2nd from Schemitsch and Melchiori
Pu scores his 2nd goal from Praplan and Mangene.

Sounds like all the new additions scored or assisted in the win in their debuts.

Driedger stops 36/37 and he now has a 2.66 GAA and .919 SV% with a 7-6-1 record. Not bad.

Very nice but man I'm still so mad that they played themselves out of the playoffs with that absolutely terrible stretch...
Good for Pu. I'm sorta curious to see how he does with us - never really watched him but I do recall him being quite heavily hyped just a year ago. Seems like Carolina was selling low after his very poor rookie season with Charlotte. Cost us next to nothing so he's not burdened by any expectations like he was after the Skinner trade.

In college Bednard has a meh game (3 goals on 17 shots); other than that just some assists by our other guys (Hutsko, Krygier).

Noel pointless in a 3-2 win; kinda on a cold streak lately (whyyy did you stop shooting again man? And you were doing so well... averaging two shots per game? Not gonna cut it.)

In yet other news, Kinnunen added two PP assists yesterday in Mestis (Finnish 2nd best league). His team lost 3-2 even though they outshot the opponent 20-38; Kinnunen played 1st pairing and was on ice for one ES goal against. Now has 11 points (1+10) in 17 games in Mestis.

Hepo pointless in a Liiga game.

OHL:
Tippett pointless in a 7-1 win.
Noel a primary assist in a 4-5 loss.

College:
Gildon scores on the PP :) Third star of the game in a 2-2 tie, wasn't on ice for any goals against. Now has 6 goals, 15 assists for 21 points in 28 games (seven of those points game on the PP).

Bednard allows 1 goal on 11 shots in a 7-1 win. Seriously, his team is so dominant, I want him out of there. Can we get him to SPR? Should really get tested there. He's been in college for three years - would he be done with his degree or does it take longer?

Hutsko has an assist in a 2-4 loss, 6 SOG - they outshot their opponent 43-22 and still lost. Hutsko hasn't scored a goal since December 6 - have to think he's definitely snakebit. Now has 19 points (4+15) in 30 games. This is a decline from last year but you have to consider how bad BC has been - his 19 points is still good for second on the team. Their offense is David Cotton (Carolina's 2015 draft pick), and then a whole lot of nothing - besides Cotton, the most anyone on that team scored is 7 goals. Note: BC is an abysmal 3-15-1 when Hutsko doesn't have a point.

Also at BC, Finkelstein has been held pointless but he and his partner were the only BC defencemen that weren't on ice for any goal against.

Good on the forecheck, but not an NHL caliber player. Can't find the net.

I don't entirely agree about that. I've been high on both he and Hawrlyuk since they were in juniors not just for their scoring ability, but their ability to play a high energy 200 foot game. I think that the two of them very well might be regular fixtures on our bottom six if they can't figure out a way to become scoring line guys.
