T Birds lose again . 7th place is beckoning (one point ahead of Hershey, who are unbeaten in their last 10 with 4 games in hand on the T Birds).

How's McGinn look? 2 assists tonight, had a goal the other night. He may get called up soon and Malgin may get sent down. McCoshen and Brown have been fairly decent on the 3rd pairing.

How's Ang looked as well? He needs another 2 years probably?

Whats up with SPR the last 10 games? Defense and goaltending?

AHL:

SPR lose 4-2, Monty in net, saves 24/27 but his stats are staring to look average. Ang with his 4th goal tonight, 19pts in 51 games. Should finish with around 30 which is decent for a rookie. Schemitsch (RD) with his 6th goal, now has 12pts in 35 games. McGinn had 2 assists, has 2 goals and 4 pts in 4 games, could easily be called up soon to add more grit/toughness in the bottom 6.

OHL:

Tippett breaks his 8 game goal slump with his 23rd and 24th tonight. 47pts in 38 games.

Noel had the night off

College:

Gildon held pointless in two games this weekend. Still on pace to best his last year totals in both goals and assists. 5 goals, 19 pts in 23 games so far. (8 goals, 23 pts in 36 games last year)

Bednard off until next weekend.

INTL:

Hepo with another goal today, his 14th, 37pts in 38 games. One would assume he's up for rookie of the year award (if there is one?)

@letsgrowcactus does the rest, the Hutskos, the Schultzs etc

He looked ok still needs a few more games to get it back, does not belong down there. Ang had a decent game but needs to stay in control. He needs a few more years. Wideman has looked good 6 points in 11 games and was back in the game tonight. When he is not playing they really seem to struggle in their own zone. He does not belong down there as well. The team played much better tonight, last night was awful. Love the speed of Greco if he can package it all together reminds me a bit of the speedy kid from Ottawa forgot his name. Thompson has looked very good lately as well. They just need to put it together on the offensive end lots of opportunity when they take their time. Overall goaltending in tonights game I thought was decent. A few breakaways that can go either way.

Pageau probably? How does Schemitsch look? He's shown steady progression stat wise, maybe another year in AHL and maybe a depth option RD the year after?
Wouldn't mind McGinn up here soon, can rest some guys here and there.
Still holding out hope Ang can become a decent 4th line C/PK specialist in a few years.

Did Hepo play yesterday? Liiga was supposed to be off... He does have a nice little streak going (four straight goals and seven points in the past four games. Was 12+23 in 38 games the last I know).

Not much else to report really. Hutsko played on Friday and continues his slump as BC lost 3-0. He has no goals and just four assists in the past 13 games (he's -11 over that stretch as well). Boston College really struggling compared to last year and he seems to be one of the reasons (when he has a point, BC is 7-2-2; if he's pointless they go 3-11-1). Finkelstein obviously with no points but at least he wasn't on ice for any goals against.

Schutz has slowed down a bit since being injured and coming back from the WJC, possibly because he has been moved from line 2 (pre-injury/WJC) to line 3. He has 17 points in 18 games in AlpsHL (mix of 18+ years old kids + bad older hockey players). He also participated in "Austria2 playoffs" (the top four Austrian AlpsHL teams compete amongst themselves). He had four points in four games which all came in game 1 where he went 1+3; his team won the tournament.
Overall the league is pretty awful - from the highlights, it seems mostly like a bunch of guys chasing the puck with quite a lot of nasty hits thrown by the big/older guys. Hopefully Schutz plays at the U20 WJC next year - would be much more telling to see him against same age prospects from Canada, US etc. Also hoping to see him move to a better league.

My bad, Hepo played on the 8th but just recapping his last game. One website says he has 14g, 37pts in 38 games so far and another has the same as you posted. He plays on Tuesday.

Never got the hype around Hutsko but he's gonna need a good 3-4 years of development anyhow. Not so worried about the forward prospects outside the big 3.

The second and third goal Monty let in he didn't have much of a chance. The third was on a 2-1 while T-Birds had a PP lol.

I can see why people like Ang so much now even though he doesn't get a lot of points. He's super fast and was pretty noticeable even apart from his goal I thought.

Hunt was really good. I hope he gets another shot.

Also I know he's not a prospect but I loved watching Bobby Farnham. He's a little psycho lol. His facial expressions reminded me of Philip Seymore Hoffman in Punch Drunk Love

Can someone help me out?

Last year's draft we took Noel 34th. That was with the Coyotes pick we got for Crouse?

Where did our original pick go?

I don't pay attention to prospects, not even on my own team that much.

This Hepo guy intrigues me. What's his deal? Exploded that second Junior season with 90 assists then is doing well in whatever Euro league he's in.

Liiga is not a whatever league. There are other good leagues that aren’t the NHL.

I didn't say a whatever league, I said "whatever league he's in". Also didn't know off hand what Junior team, so I just wrote Juniors.

Thanks for telling me about him though.

Tippett with a hat trick tonight.

I expect 3 gifs then good sir!

Figures, a 8 game goal drought for a sniper is a nightmare. Think he has 5 goals in his last two games now?

Big Christmas with a goal and helper, 29 goals and 70pts. That's a huge accomplishment for the guy. Could possibly end the year with 35 goals and 80pts with 12-13 games to go.

Found two of them. Not totally sure which goals they were.

His skating has improved immensely. That’s a great sign of dedication and work ethic and character.

Think we found another PP one timer option

And to add to that, his ability to adapt to new teams/players/formations, he's produce whether in Mississauga, Team Canada and now Saginaw . Seems like a bright kid in the O-zone, if he learns how to skate it through the neutral zone effectively and continue to fine tune the defensive side of things, I have no worries saying he's a top 6 winger in 2 years.
