Brook and Fleury

Both looking real good this start of the game. Both with no complex and playing their type of game.

It was a short PP for Laval, but Fleury was on the first wave and Brook on the second.

Man can Verbeek fly. Cleveland was on the PP. And just like last time, Verbeek draws another penalty and Cleveland's PP is cancelled. Again some 4-on-4 hockey followed by a short Laval PP.

A lot of credit to Laval so far. A really thin line-up, but they're giving Cleveland a hard time.

Alexandre Texier makes it 1-0 for Cleveland.

On the counter-attack. Texier with a real nice wrist shot that LaCouvee couldn't stop. LaCouvee having another good game, so far.

After 1 period, it's 1-0 for Cleveland. I'm impressed by Laval's hard work. You'd think with that forward group, they wouldn't be much of a challenge for Cleveland. It is not the case.

Much more conviction needed.

Annoying them by throwing long pucks.

None vigilance. Lack of judgement by the dplayers. The bodycheck was useless. That's let Texier capitalizing freely.

Left arm or shoulder of Evans been touched...

No coverage...

Being perfectly lucid. And looking at us as we are. We managed to win small battles. But we're coverating inadequately. ECHL strikers.

Hiding foolishly the view of LaCouvee...

Pezzetta showing up his fighting skills...

Automatisms not found on the Ouellet - Brook pair. Zero communication between them.

Rough night by Fleury...

Asleeped fan noticed in the PB's stand :D

Cleveland Monsters in a clock race for a PO spot. Controlled the whole sixteen minutes.

Ours, inexistent and inoffensive.

no, they are not horrible at least not for most of the year. They have played pretty well most nights often being the better team. They look so much better then last year, but just don't have a goal scorer on the team since Agostino left and then Froese. It's too bad they didn't send Hudon down months ago, he would have been a great help to the offense.

Most nights their defensive play is impressive, the goaltending hasn't been great but not a problem for the most part. They have run into some problems here and there where they need to make that one save that they don't as Laval often would only score 2 or less a game.

Tonight they were terrible, sure but the season is over. Plus Bouchard has either been told to play LaCouvee every other game or he just likes him but I don't agree with it as McNiven should have been given the bulk of the starts as he earned it imo. LaCouvee now has given up 5 goals in 2 of the last 3 games. McNiven has played about twice the amount of games as LaCouvee and has only let in 5 or more 2 times all year and one was early in the season when he was the backup to Lindgren. Since Lindgren's injury where he started getting regular playing time he's been at his best imo which is why I think it's disappointing they didn't give him the rest of the season especially now with Primeau incoming next year.

I'm a Teasdale fan. I think he can at least be an NHLer. almost a gpg after the trade.

possibly tyszka and juulsen too. walford aint for sure. still likely the most potential we've had on the farm in a long time.

I assume they aren't signing Tyzka, perhaps Walford when his playoffs are over.

Next year, we should see an influx of talent that will change the complexion of the team where it's been weakest. I'm assuming the likes of Suzuki spends time in Laval and who knows, maybe even Brook and/or Poehling see time there.

I can't think of who else may be Laval-bound but there has to be a better scoring team getting rostered.

Officially eliminated from the playoffs after last night's 5-0 loss to Cleveland, this year should still be looked at as a positive. The team did a complete 180 in the way they performed, the way they battled, and the way the prospects got better along the way, even if the team results weren't always there.

And with the incoming prospects like Brook, Primeau, Teasdale, possibly Walford and Tyszka, maybe Suzuki and Poehling (if they don't crack Habs' line-up), along with Fleury, Evans, Vejdemo, and Alain with a year under their belt. Even Verbeek and Pezzetta, who were also in their first year as pros, looked good as depth forwards for Laval the more games they got to play. Not to mention the coaches, who have been great for the prospects, will also have one season of pro hockey experience going into next year.

Last year, they were eliminated from the playoffs long before this year. This season, they were officially eliminated with 5 games left in the season.

Since their games don’t matter any more, why won’t they play Primeau rather than making him a secondo? :sarcasm:

Honestly id like to see Laval start the year next year with Poehling and Suzuki on the top line, see how that goes for 20-30 games or so, re-evaluate
You already know their evaluation. A package of 5 games if they're performing. And get them recalled. Vice versa. No longer possible to wait patiently according to them. It must change for our prospects development's sakes...

Well its either they make the Canadiens roster or they dont bud ...

If they or one make it, great!
If they dont... they arent just "staying down for 5 games"

30+ PRO games is hardly a hindrance to "our prospects development's sakes..", neither one of these 2 have played 30 year old men before, unlike The Kid Kotka who is 18 and already finishing year TWO of doing that very thing, recording 34 points no less

You cant "accelerate" everybody..

I wishly wish they stick into your reasoning no matter what. That's should be how they do it. In the past, we messed up big time by doing the opposite.

You can't have a roster filled with raw 20-21 y old rookies. At some point, MB has to get some AHL career good vet players to support this cast. Froese, Agostino, Chaput were doing fine.

Naaa, according to some here, you can't develop players in the AHL...
