Isn't moving Pulkkinen for the 21st pick robbing Peter to pay Paul?
I think it would be a mistake to trade Pulkkinen without giving him a fair shot as a top 9 forward, with 2nd PP minutes. And I don't mean put him there for 4 games, and if he doesn't produce, demote him. I mean put him there next season from the get go, give him 13+ minutes per game and see what he can do with it.
I have no doubt in my mind Pulkkinen can be a 20+ goal NHL scorer as soon as next season, if given a proper chance. He is tearing the AHL to threads, I know the players are a step slower, but still the A is a very good league, and he has been the most dominant scorer in that league in the last year and a half.
Also, the fact that Blash is witnessing his domination of the A first hand should help Pulkkinen's case to be given a fair chance and not be traded. I would assume Holland with touch base with Blash before pulling the trigger on any deal involving him, and I would expect Blash to want to keep Pulkkinen around.
