Dumb as rocks post. Most of HF Leaf fans must be young. You have to be about ~25 just to maybe remember a playoff series win lol

I imagine this cocky Leafs fan cycle will look something like the Vancouver Dynasty that never was. Likely without a cup finals appearance though. Probably no presidents trophies either.

I was disappointed to have to miss this game because of a dentist appointment. Watching the highlights and scanning the GDT it seems like my root canal was more enjoyable. True story.

I felt that taking advantage of the warm weather to go walking was a better idea than watching the game. Given what I'm hearing in here, it probably would have been the right call even if it was still -30 out there

RNH has been playing poorly lately but didn't I recently read you standing up for Rieder of all ****ing people? I can't even skate and I'd probably score a ****ing goal in less TOI than he has.

I don't watch too many Oilers games but Reider didn't look bad necessarily tonight. Especially in the first. Gotta be frustrating if he plays like that all the time and just can't bury

Why is Nurse still on the teams 1st pp....his telescopes his passes and doesn’t have the offensive instincts to make plays happen :((

McDavid seems check out though no? Medium effort tonight, maybe a really bad sign or he's smart enough to know we will do better with a couple high draft picks.

Looking at the highlights, I can't help but notice how McDavid just gave up on a couple of those plays which resulted in Leafs goals. That is definitely not a good look for a player who is supposed to be fired up to play in front of his family and friends. Maybe Hitchcock said something he shouldn't have during the 1st intermission that had an opposite effect on the team.

He's the only player in the league that has the burden of having to be lights out every night for his sad sack team to have a chance. Which is impossible.

Matthews was barely noticeable out there, difference is he actually has a good hockey team around him.

Through 63 games:

2017-18: 27 wins
2018-19: 26 wins

I don't think Chiarelli's plan worked.

Players aren’t playing hard enough. ;)

I turned it off after it was 2-1. Son and friends came over to play DnD. We all agreed game was done at 2-1 as the Oilers can’t chase games against skill teams like Toronto.

Checked the score half an hour ago. Good thing we decided to play the DnD game. We had way more fun and much blood was spilled.

You thinking McDavid should make an effort in the defensive zone? Really?McDavid is an opportunist and uses his speed to capitalize. He does not work to take opportunity away from his opponents, or dig to create from the defensive zone. He's a 100 foot player

I'm surprised there isn't a 30 page thread on the main board calling for a lifetime ban for Malone.
LOL and the weaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak goaltender interference challenge. Read something along the lines of "most blatant goaltender interference EVAR" when there was very minimal contact and their goalie didn't even try to get up.

Nurse got 2 points to cover up his complete dumpster fire of a game.
What was Nurse’s deal on Toronto’s first goal? They were killing a penalty and Nurse intentionally goes down on his knees in front of the net and gives the puck away for an empty net goal. Nobody around him and no reason to do it. I was shaking my head at that play for half an hour. One of the most inexplicable plays I’ve seen all year.
