My wife asked what the prospects of this game were as she was coming off the Sixers loss and fighting the sandman. I described it as: someone has to win, but who gets to bust their slump?
Three cheers for the good guys. This actually looked like a competitive game. I wonder if the Flyers are out of their funk, or if by comparison, this was like when the Eagles beat the Giants? Sure they looked good, but they just beat up on a hapless team, whom is in the business of making others look good.
Congrats to Hak to changing up the PP. Minus to Hak, for after it showed it could work, they revert back to the non-scoring PP version because, #reasons. T'was a good win, Elliott actually looked good, some rebound control issues aside. Didn't see a lot of starfish, which is a plus. NAK was mentioned during positive moments. Luckily Jori had taken a penalty recently, otherwise he might've taken NP's shift and the winning goal likely not scored. The PK is still poop. It's amazing that the Flyers found another team that plays a passive do nothing box when the other team is established. However, it was interesting to note, crossing the blue line with the puck does not equate to established for the Ducks. What a marvelous concept. Also, impressive that so many "future core" guys had positive games. Couts, Provy, NP all scoring, the script writers could've only made it better if NAK scored a goal as well. (But I predicted a 3-2 final, I think, so I'm probably happy just the way the game ended.)
1 out of X is more than I thought they'd win on this trip.
