My wife asked what the prospects of this game were as she was coming off the Sixers loss and fighting the sandman. I described it as: someone has to win, but who gets to bust their slump?

Three cheers for the good guys. This actually looked like a competitive game. I wonder if the Flyers are out of their funk, or if by comparison, this was like when the Eagles beat the Giants? Sure they looked good, but they just beat up on a hapless team, whom is in the business of making others look good.

Congrats to Hak to changing up the PP. Minus to Hak, for after it showed it could work, they revert back to the non-scoring PP version because, #reasons. T'was a good win, Elliott actually looked good, some rebound control issues aside. Didn't see a lot of starfish, which is a plus. NAK was mentioned during positive moments. Luckily Jori had taken a penalty recently, otherwise he might've taken NP's shift and the winning goal likely not scored. The PK is still poop. It's amazing that the Flyers found another team that plays a passive do nothing box when the other team is established. However, it was interesting to note, crossing the blue line with the puck does not equate to established for the Ducks. What a marvelous concept. Also, impressive that so many "future core" guys had positive games. Couts, Provy, NP all scoring, the script writers could've only made it better if NAK scored a goal as well. (But I predicted a 3-2 final, I think, so I'm probably happy just the way the game ended.)

1 out of X is more than I thought they'd win on this trip.

-TK got benched for Simmonds at the end of the game!
-Simmonds played more than Patrick, Lindblom, Laughton, and TK!
-Sanheim only played 14:10!!!!!!!! Less than Hagg and Folin?!?!
-Patrick only played 1:12 more than Weal!!!
-PP scores and then gets switched back before the end of the game!
-Hakshell again!

Dude that is one insane idiot.. how does he even manage to pull this off

It was a win, guys, we should be happy. It doesn't matter that it wasn't sustainable hockey. It doesn't matter that the ice time distribution is all over the place. It doesn't matter that the PK was once again passive and allowed a tying goal. It doesn't matter that the Ducks were even worse than the Devils couple of games ago.

Actually a tie would have been good enough result, thus Patrick's game winning goal doesn't really matter. Meaningless goal, just like any powerplay goal.

A win means, that the team is not a complete mess and the coaching staff and management are not hack frauds, right?

Alright so my software I use to rewatch the games is broken tonight. Forced to tune in to the replay with 4:00 left in the 2nd period. So I'm sure my "thoughts" post won't be as thorough and may be misguided since I didn't have the entire sample size of the game. Don't blame me, blame technology.

Konecny:
  • Beat Fowler wide and centered it for a scoring chance to Coots
  • Got under Getzlaf's skin
  • Made a behind the back outlet pass to a breaking Provorov for the D zone exit
Provorov:
  • Forced Rakell wide and pinned him on the boards, poked the puck away
  • Definitely looked like the Provy of old. Crisp passes and jumping up on O, evidenced by the goal. He's looked like he's showing signs of snapping out of whatever was going on early in the season and today seemed like another step in the right direction.
New Look 3rd Line: Pinned in the zone 2/2 shifts I saw in the 2nd, and 1/1 so far in the 3rd. Shocking, I know. Simmonds was great in the final minute though.

Lindblom: played well. Probably his best game of the season. Won a good number of pucks along the boards.
  • Fought through the checking of Lindholm for the centering pass to Patrick. Get this man to the AHL. Both of them, really, because Patrick has sucked this year and therefore will suck for the rest of his career.
  • In the second I remember him hitting someone and taking the puck. Centered it to a teammate in prime scoring position, can't remember who it was though
NAK: Boy this kid was flying. I'm not sure I saw him lose a puck battle. Hope he played like this all game and continues in the games remaining until he's scratch for no reason then sent down for no reason.

Elliot: Played well, but off his angle on the last goal. Shocking, I know He gets burned on his angles many times.

Weal: I'm done with him and his penalties

Hakshell in full effect. 3rd period was all Ducks. Shocking, I know. PK fails them again, allowing a player all the time in the world to pick a spot to shoot at. Shocking, I know. When will this organization realize you can't count on a team playing passively with the lead and poorly on the PK and take steps to remedy this?

Feel free, anyone, to chime in. I only saw half the game so I'm sure I missed some important looks in the 1st and 2nd.

It's funny that you demote a guy for lack of effort and then the replacement guy is flying out there and gives you 200% effort every shift. And you reward him with 5 f***ing minutes of ice time.

Don´t make it worse than it was.
.
We beat a lowly team? Correct. So what?
NAK should have had more ice time. Agreed. Big deal? No.
Sanheim with too little 5/5 ice time. Well, he had additional PP ice time. Big deal? No.
There are positive things as well like Hägg developing as was expected (not by all people here though).
.
I don´t think this was a turnaround game either, but really: Some people have so much anger inside that it is getting hard to keep following this forum. Get your private problems solved and return with a slightly better mood.

Patrick was our best forward, best he's looked all year, and if he had a RW who could shoot, would have 3 points on the night.
Really was skating well and looked confident.
And he goes to the net.

quick question. How was giroux able to get that even strength assist without couturier serving it up for him on a silver platter? I mean

No, it's not a big deal if you just think about last nights game. But what kind of message does it send to these players. You get one guy who now is at Allentown because coach thought he didn't play with effort. You bring up a guy who does those things and you would think there would be some kind of reward, but no. It's pretty clear by now Hak doesn't communicate well with his players, he has said so himself, so how are these young players supposed to know what to do if you don't get any reward for doing things the right way?

Edit. And not knowing what/when your doing well leads to uncertainty and poor play. And you should not forget that playing bad leads to cutting of minutes, sitting out games or demotion, are you still surprised many of our young players seem hesitant on the ice? I'm not.

Even during the Berube era, as much as I bitched and complained I always would root for the boys to come out with a win. I just don’t feel the same now, I woke up hoping for a loss so this POS would get shot out of a cannon back to the badlands where he belongs. So I guess deep down I’d rather lose now and fire a guy that hurts us everyday he’s here, rather than 3 more years of mediocrity.

NAK was great when he played. He didn't get much, but that was kinda expected. I'd like to see more of him. Hope he sticks around.

HAHAHHAHHHHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAA WHAT THE **** DID YOU EVEN DO TODAY DALE?

Not a fan of it either but players give the helmet out. They probably feel he has battled his way back from being waived and then promoted to the third line. They probably wanted to give him a little credit for his work. That’s probably what happened here.
