I was hoping the commercial on the score clock at the games beginning would fire them up but felt like a game in Dec not a home playoff game.

What a joke that was. Cheeeeeezy

Troops are promoting it cause they'll make all the money from it........kinda like they did with the curling. All concessions and a portion of every ticket sold. Best arrangement a team has in the CHL by far.

Abbott made more $$$ in 10 days than he did the rest of the hockey season.

Burghardt's stick &/or elbow made contact with Byrne's head on 3 occasions within seconds: bottom of the circle near net; top of circle; finally out towards the blueline. Maybe coach could help us understand what one of your top 2 players was doing out there down 3 in the last minute.
Given the league has already handed out stick infraction (cross-checking) suspensions in these playoffs, Luke's season is over. Since he is arguably the most highly skilled player on the team, it is kind of interesting to note he led the team in PIM during the regular season and is out front in the playoffs.

Do you think we will keep playoffs interesting and win another few games or is that suspension the end of playoffs???

I assume Coe is concussion and Chenier blocked a shot with his hand in game 3 it looked like.
All just assumptions of course.

Coe did not look concussed as a result of double crosscheck to the (back) into the boards. A ‘upper body injury’ is probably the price of hitting a goalie and drawing the Murray suspension.

Just finished watching the somewhat painful replay of Game 3 in Sudbury. At about the 5 min. mark of 3rd D L. Murray of KGN grabbed BC21 around the head and shoulders and shoved him towards the boards. He then drove a 2 handed cross check into his back and knocked him into the boards. As Brandon got to his knees trying to get back up Murray drove him again face first into the boards. Double minor for cross checking (match penalty for deliberate attempt to injure might have been more appropriate) plus 2 game suspension. Coe surprisingly came back out for his next shift a couple of minutes later but was then done for the night. In the same sequence BC24 was trying to get into the mix and D M. Byrne of KGN punched Brad in the face (thanks Ref. for the non-call). Chenier came out for his next 2 shifts and was then done. He did block a shot earlier in the game but it was early-mid 1st and he didn't miss a shift as a result.
While some of this Front stuff was pretty disgusting, Troops were not totally angelic (or smart). In early 2nd as KGN was exiting zone, LB25 cross-checked a defender into the boards well behind the puck, 2min. pen. for Luke. Shortly thereafter Jesse Saban carried his stick blade well above his head in front of his net, and chopped it down not once, but twice, to make sure he was called for slashing. Result of course was Fronts' lethal power play connecting twice.

that game in Sudbury was pretty nasty. NB set the tone early. That stuff on Coe was mean; but, Coe did mean to hit Helvig.

I have to admit to not really noticing the goalie contact. Upon further review, it appeared that Helvig was fully out of the blue paint and that Coe was attempting to play the puck. However, there was also clearly contact, although it might have been incidental, by the forward on the goalie.
In any event the damage is done and the likely highlight of the next week or so will be the #9 selection on April 7.

im hoping schleuting isnt too much of a reach because he is local.. i hadn't seen him on other rankings as much but good size and stat-line

Results of a poll of 14 GMs & 5 head scouts had Schleuting in the top ten 11/19 times. (22 players got votes, 8 got 10 or more votes) So, not a sure fire top ten and not necessarily too much of a reach. NB having #29 & #31 picks should negate some of the concern if they are reaching a little for a local kid that is sure to commit; and maybe, boost ticket sales a bit. It’s good for the local minor hockey system too, imo.

Kingston is by far the better team by far but, hockey is a better game with the Cliff Pu's of the world. What a d-bag, "tough" guys like him are who the instigator rule favours.

Sean Day needs the quiet room. He's done nothing but give the puck away since he smashed his face off of Saban's knee.
Concussion protocol not a thing in the OHL?
