I really liked the Pilot of this show. I like Elliotts character and the idea of him using his hacking skills to find dirt on people and kind of be a vigilante that way. I thought the show would focus on that...like when he busted the kiddy porn guy.

The show has gotten super trippy. It's not terrible but it's getting away from what I liked about it.

Meh, that sounds like the plot to any generic cable drama. I'm glad they haven't gone that way.

Agree here. The pilot was very good. Made me really want to take part in the show. It was simple, but that's how shows become epic. NCIS runs the same format almost every show and all it does it dominate. Hell, even their spinoffs are popular. Hacker new age vigilante with social issues, family issues, trust issues, and a friend who he's in love with? Yeah... that will trap a lot of viewers in a good way. Instead... they went, as you said, full trippy.

I don't think it had to be every show, and I would have been fine with a bigger plot (much like Person of Interest), but man the show just tries so hard to be different, weird, and over the top. We get it. You are edgy now, USA. But stick to good content because the first episode was ridiculously good.

Each show gets worse and worse, in my opinion, and I am now okay with not tuning in.

Sorry to see so many here disappointed. I like it. I have a feeling it's going to get really going in the next EP.

Maybe I'm too old, but some of the criticisms crack me up. Trying to be too edgy? Don't like the sex and drugs angle. Things that are lauded in many shows and movies. I just don't get it.

I think many of you are just too impatient. Wanting the juice. Frigin drug addicts the lot of you

Just discovered this show and plowed through the first four episodes over the weekend. I'm liking it so far and I think I'll keep watching. I kind of wish Elliott could do more with his hacking than just check their emails and facebook profiles...maybe be able to hack into items like in the game Watchdogs.

And Tyrell looks like he could be a crazy antagonist for Elliott in the future.

Only on ep 3 so I can't read this thread but this show is amazing.

Love Cyber Punk as much as zombies, and I'm sure like zombies this genre will be big.

Show is unique but I see some similarities with the first and 2nd season of Dexter. His inner monologue, subject matter, dark passenger, asian co-worker :sarcasm:, sweet soundtrack. All that's missing is a sick intro.

Also New York's American Psycho, which gets more obvious with ep 3 and the main antagonist.

As well as Fight Club. I think Mr. Robot is in his head and he's the leader of that group.

I have no problems with any of the episodes. If you enjoyed the pilot you should enjoy the series. Not like it mislead the quality of the show (unlike twd).

Really like how they spent a good portion of an ep to lay the background of the young e-corp guy. And the bar scene was also where I became certain. But I first thought of it when they introduced him on the train. Seen that b4

Liking it alot. Only complaint is the focus on drug use.

It's kind of falling off for me because of the focus on the drug use thing. I was hoping for a more a Dexter vibe where there would be a focus on him hacking/messing with people doing shady **** week to week as the main story progresses.

I enjoy the show, but there is one thing I do not like - Good shows do not have to do the insane sex and drug scenes. I just don't get it. Let the show be good. The excessive sex/drug scenes are not warranted.

I really dislike HBO shows for doing the same thing. Just let the show be good for crying out loud. I'm sure I will be in the minority there. I just think it deters away from the great idea.

Drugs are pivotal to Elliot's character and even more so his condition. I feel like the sex scenes are to show how far Tyrell will go to become CTO, in addition to what his wife is in to, it's the contrast to his public life. Add that to paying the bum to kick his ass, he's got kind of a American Psycho vibe going. Those scenes are unsettling to many - that's the point. I don't know how it deters.

I don't understand what's wrong with shows having sex and drugs in them. Why do we have to shun these things? They're part of everyday life for many people, it's not like some bizarre concept. People have sex. People do drugs. The best shows on TV usually have one or both aspects too. They're realistic things.

Agreed. Nudity is taboo, chopping off heads is no problem though as far as entertainment in our culture. Doesn't make sense.

Agreed, I hope it gets back to more of that.

I didn't mind the sex scene with Tyrell and the assistant. It goes to show just how far he would go to get what he wants. To actually show it happening had more of a visual impact than just implying it. As someone had mentioned before, he really reminds me of Patrick Bateman.

It did, kinda difficult to explain unless there are multiple people that don't exist. Looking at it from a Fight Club view, he's watching himself be Mr. Robot at times.

I mean, I guess. They still had moments where they were clearly still implying Mr. Robot doesn't exist. The scene with the two hackers and Mr. Robot in the van is a perfect example of that. They don't acknowledge him at all.

Plus, Elliot broke down everyone's weaknesses and he stated that Mr. Robot's was that he was clinically insane and would jump off a bridge just for the hell of it (no doubt a callback to the earlier episode). Elliot said his own weakness is that he talks to people that don't exist, so there's another clue as well.

But at the same time, not two scenes earlier, it was Mr. Robot who stole the ID at the coffee shop with Elliot and the other two watching. Unless there's some serious delusion going on (certainly possible), that's an oversight.

There were four coffees on the table in that shop before they hit Steel Mountain. I think it's real. Unless Elliott imagined the extra coffee too.

The show has gotten pretty bad the last two episodes IMO. This week's was alright I guess, but the week before that was just terrible. That whole drug trip thing was hard to watch.

The show established in the pilot that you can't take what Elliot sees or hears to be entirely real. So it's kinda fun to look for clues, but you really can't come to a conclusion either way. The only way we'll know for sure is if they do a reveal.

Yep. It's been called nothing but Evil Corp since the pilot. Even Tyrell says Evil Corp when talking to Elliott.

So is Tyrell not real either? I'm not sure who is and who isn't real at all, to be honest.

Tyrell is definitely real

See the difference between Tyrell, Darlene, Angela and Shayla is that they have their own scenes and side-plots

Meanwhile Mr. Robot is directly tied to Elliot.. it's been 5 episodes we'll see if that changes but I'm very certain that they're the same person.

Tinfoil on.. it could even be his dad... Now that's another Dexter similarity

They explained that though. In the first episode, Elliot said he's associated E-Corp with Evil Corp so closely that his mind automatically makes the replacement without even thinking about it.
