What was it the boss figured out at the end of episode? That Elliot switched out the IP?

The Evil Corps guy is bat **** nuts

Looks like my theory about the Chinese hacker was wrong

Didn't Mr. Robot say that they're getting some Chinese hacker group (Dark Army, or something) to take care of 1/3rd of the steps needed to take down Evil Corp?

My guess is the guy represents them, and AllSafe is their way in.

The real question is if the Mr Robot is Elliot angle is true then why would he have another hacker group go after Angela? Yes they got to the boyfriend but also went after her

Also "is he drinking Starbucks?"

Well Mr. Robot is probably a split personality, so I doubt he feels any attachment to Angela like Elliot does.

I enjoy the show, but there is one thing I do not like - Good shows do not have to do the insane sex and drug scenes. I just don't get it. Let the show be good. The excessive sex/drug scenes are not warranted.

I really dislike HBO shows for doing the same thing. Just let the show be good for crying out loud. I'm sure I will be in the minority there. I just think it deters away from the great idea.

If it were out of place, I'd agree with you. But it's not. With the tone and the environment the show centers around, sex and drug use would match that tone and environment, and thus, would have a place on the show.

I'm ok with some of it. But here are a few examples...
- the sex scene was fine with the two guys as it showed the one tech guy is insane. However, was the clean up part and comment necessary? It was overboard to be overboard. And all that just to hack a phone!? I was hoping he'd kill him for whatever reason. It would have been more sadistic.

- the tying up and gag part at the end... Was it really serving any point to the show? It was so weird and out of place. We get it...the guy is crazy.

- the drug stuff is fine, but they over do it a bit. It seems like every loose second they force it in there.

- paying the hobo to beat him up. Come on. You hit the point home 100 times. The guy is crazy. We get it. That isn't realistic in the slightest.

Yea but good shows can be good and be even better with sex and drug scenes. Why does a show have to be good without sex and drugs? Sex is fun. Drugs are fun. These are real parts of life that most shows will/can not show. That's why people love the HBO shows.

The Fight Club angle makes sense, but that would be so ****ing lame. It'd be an exact rip off? I'm not buying it. Probably because I don't want to believe it

The bartender did seem to basically go out of his way to ignore Robot though.....

Why would it be lame? Because it's been done before in a completely different way? That's like every movie ever made to some extent. Millions of people just went to a movie about dinosaurs. Guess what happened :sarcasm:

Either the show is good or not. So far It's got my attention. I could care less if he's hallucinating an alter ego.

So, one person at the very end brought up the Fight Club / Matrix feel subject, but then asked a completely different question

And season 2 was picked up before the first EP aired.

I don't understand what's wrong with shows having sex and drugs in them. Why do we have to shun these things? They're part of everyday life for many people, it's not like some bizarre concept. People have sex. People do drugs. The best shows on TV usually have one or both aspects too. They're realistic things.

This show is way too trippy and disjointed for me. Seems like it's trying to be artsy and meta and that's not really my kind of show.

I really liked the Pilot of this show. I like Elliotts character and the idea of him using his hacking skills to find dirt on people and kind of be a vigilante that way. I thought the show would focus on that...like when he busted the kiddy porn guy.

The show has gotten super trippy. It's not terrible but it's getting away from what I liked about it.

I watched some of this show for the first time last night...I loved the fact that they mention turning to some contacts in a hacker group and I could swear he referred to them as Darkode which, oddly enough, is the very same hacker group the feds announced they had busted and arrested some people while waiting on warrants on more (70 people domestically and another 19 overseas total) yesterday morning

I'm getting really tired of the heavily flawed protagonist archetype dominating these cable shows, though.:shakehead

The pilot was outstanding but this has gotten worse and worse with every episode.

The episode was ok. Could have done without the 20 minute fever dream though. I keep hoping at some point the show will divorce itself from the pointless drug induced diologue, but I think that is becoming less and less likely.

It almost seems like the show doesn't have enough story to fill a full episode, so they throw in outrageous drug use or violence to remind viewers that they're a dark/edgy show.
