I'm sure like me, due to your proximity saw a lot of the islanders Moulson...what the heck happened to him? Was it all Tavares?

JT helped him a lot, of course. moulson was always a finisher that didn't skate well so he meshed better with a guy like JT
that's not a burner. he was also really soft, so being a skill guy was his only real calling card. as for today, it
could be as simple as just not being able to get to spots quick enough to score those goals. he was good on the PP
last year for buffalo, but like beleskey, the feet became a problem. i did like the idea of moulson for beleskey for us,
but mainly for business reasons (and botterill has no reason to do it unless he really likes beleskey).

Sounds like me talking about Loui Eriksson, of course Backes is a much better player than Loui, always has been always will be.

The last year on Backes contract probably wont be so great but he will still bring intangibles and a gritty game. Sorry he's not Austin Czarnik.
The last year Eriksson was here, he was better then anything Backes has done yet for the Bruins. Eriksson was tied for 2nd in points, a beast on the powerplay and PK, a complete player. Have not seen that yet with Backes, I want to but still waiting

As for Beleskey, Moulson - Agostino is better then both of them

I can see why Boston had to do this. However his many fans in Coventry will still be rooting for him and following his career. If we could afford him we would have him back in a heartbeat. There will still be many #39 Ducks and Bruins jerseys at our home games (mine included) and I'm sure a few new ones from his future teams. Good luck Matty. We all hope you can turn it around.

silly question but one I haven`t an answer to if someone here could clarify when it comes to waivers.

When a player is put on waivers by any team and is claimed by another, does the team that claims him compensate the one who put the player on waivers?

Thx

There is a waiver fee the team picking up the player pays... it's pretty "small".. 10,000 maybe? I'm not sure if it goes to the waiving team or to the league office.

The claiming team does not owe any compensation to the waiving team except for a fee. It absorbs his contract and that's all.

In baseball, a player can be put on waivers and then pulled back when claimed in order to facilitate a trade. If none is worked out, the player is returned to his original team. If he's put on waivers a second time in the same season the waiver is irrevocable.

Yeah there is a small transfer fee attached to the claim (under 100k), it based on the contract length of the player, I believe.

So is Beleskey- the AHL calls all send downs loans from the NHL team
Moulson is Islanders property, Ontario is the Kings affiliate, it is a assignment, not a loan, if Beleskey were assigned elsewhere while a member of Providence, see Binnington, being Blues property but playing in PRO.

All I know is the AHL is calling Beleskey a loan from Boston: TheAHL.com

You said Moulson was loaned because he was Quick's brother-in-law. I pointed out that the AHL considers Beleskey's move a loan also. Unless you were pointing out that Quick somehow convinced the Kings to get Moulson assigned to Ontario, it seems like semantics.

that was the Islanders or anybody else, Hook, care to explain why a Blues goaltender is assigned to Providence instead of elsewhere, that's the true definition of a 'loan', Beleskey's is not unless they assign him to another club, hence a reassignment, believe me, I know the inner workings of transactions....

Remember Ericson was given most of the PP time and Backes receives little to none.

That'ss fine, it isn't worth having an argument over. I just know what the AHL calls it, so if they call Beleskey a loan on their transaction site, then take it up with them :)

Unless this is sarcasm, come on. His style of play is like Bergeron, do you hate Bergeron too? Eriksson got 30+ goals and 60+ points his last season here.

He had a good last season but I despised Loui, everything I hate about hockey wrapped up on one emotionless, non physical package. Of all the players that I can remember wearing a Bruins jersey since 1975 Craig Janney is the biggest disgrace followed by Loui. The Hodges would qualify for top 5 as well.

This is a beleskey thread though, so I will just say I hope he finds his game in providence and can come back up and contribute

Ok, well, you are entitled to your opinion. Personally, I really like high IQ players. I think smarts is the foundation to a successful, high quality player. To each his own, np.

Missed it by That Much
Bruins are 0-1-1 since he was waived. Maybe they should call him up to sit in the pressbox again?

Nailed it, knew they would miss someone who wasn't afraid to go into the dirty areas like digging into the corners of the popcorn box and also show a willingness to take the pushing/shoving and verbal abuse that comes with standing their ground in front of the buffet table.
