I could see quite a few 3 yr deals being on the table for Kovy. Can't see longer term than that since it'll be a +35 contract.

Maybe something in the 4.5-5.5M per range.

Cap probably going up to 80M is like the perfect timing for him lol.

I'm pretty sure the Kovalchuk/Devils split was mutual. I don't really get the hatred for Kovy. He's one of the most exciting players in the world. And he stuck it out for years as the only good player on a failing franchise in Atlanta.
I agree; he was sentenced to 10 years in the gulag that was the Thrashers in the NHL's equivalent of Siberia.

So much unwarranted hate. Strange. Nyr fans don't see anything wrong with what vesey did but laugh at kovy. I'm sure devils fans are happy butcher ditched his agreement but they won't mention that.

He is gonna be a good player for whatever team welcomes him.

As a Devils fan the one place I hope he doesn't sign next year is Pittsburgh. That forward lineup would be so deadly.

Elite players don't usually have much trouble being impact players into their late 30s/yearly 40s. Kovalchuk is a freak physically so I wouldn't hold my breath on him losing a step anytime soon.

I don't think any team should be interested. Kovalchuk will ask for way more he's worth.

Even if he slows down that shot will be good for 20 goals a year. I can't see him being Jagr-slow at any point.

Vegas should complete the Karlsson trade and then sign Kovy. why not, if they were this good this season.

Lou had him in NJ, I could see him wanting to bring him to Toronto

Kovalchuk Matthews Nylander could be deadly

Marleau Kadri Marner is already a proven line

you just need a #3 center because you got Hyman, Brown and Kapenan that can all play top 9 winger

Let Panarin play with him again. Gavrikov will be over after next season and we got Bob... some of the top Russians in the world there.

Not at all what I was saying. Toronto isn't far from being a serious contender. Older vets look at those types of teams to sign short deals on. No, I don't think everyone wants to be here.
Toronto wants to allocate the cap cost for 5 more years it will take?

I’d comfortably give him 4x5mil or 5x4.5mil in Toronto.

I think he’d want more then that though.
