After re-signing team Captain John Tavares to an 8 year extension we are very happy to announce we have re-signed another big piece of our team, Josh Bailey to an 8 year extension worth a total of $52M. The contract also includes a full NTC.

We also announce that Evander Kane, Calvin de Haan, Dennis Seidenberg and Robin Lehner were not offered contracts and will become UFA.

We are very happy with our draft.

In the first round, with Dallas pick, we were able to select RH defenseman Bode Wilde, born in Montreal, who was quite higher on our list.

Early in the second round, with Chicago pick, we were surprised to see LH defenseman K'Andre Miller still available, who was in our first round list.

Habs wouldn't be Habs without a Finnish player in the second round. With our own pick, we selected right winger Jesse Ylonen.

Finally, late in the second round, with Washington and Nashville picks, we went with two guys from the QMJHL, goaltender Kevin Mandolese and center Dmitri Zavgorodny.

Renaud Lavoie : Habs will keep an eye on the market but don't expect to be a buyer in free agency. With a little more than 3.5M$ in cap space, the offense is already very deep and if Miro Heiskanen can reach the expectations with Shea Weber, it might be their best defense in many many years.
