Make sure you have your ROSTER & CAP INFO posted in the roster thread!

Rules
Salary Cap
  • Please use CapFriendly and the CapFriendly Armchair-GM Tool to ensure that your team is cap-compliant!
  • 2017-18 Salary cap upper limit = $75M
  • 2017-18 Salary cap lower limit = $55.4M
  • 2018-19 Salary cap upper limit = $77M
  • 2018-19 Salary cap lower limit = 56.8
  • Teams may exceed the cap maximum by 10% in the offseason
  • Teams must comply with the salary cap during the season and by the end of the game
  • Teams may have a roster of no more than 23 players by the deadline and at the end of the game
  • Teams may have no more than 50 active standard player contracts at any point (see CapFriendly for contract info)
  • Offersheet compensation
Waivers/Buyouts
  • Post in this thread if you'd like to place a player on waivers
  • Burying a player in the minors or Europe only eliminates a maximum of 900k of their cap hit
  • A player placed on waivers will be on waivers for 24 hours from the initial post
  • Waiver priority will be based on the NHL standings as of the day this thread was posted
  • If a team claims a player off of waivers, they then have the lowest waiver priority
  • Teams are permitted a maximum of two ordinary buyouts each game - please use the CapFriendly Buyout Calculator
Trades
  • All trades must be sent to Joel Ward and donut or else they are not valid
  • Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in PRIOR TO POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread. Deals without a NTC/NMC do not require approval
  • Deals can be sent in and announced once this thread has been posted
  • If a trade is announced prior to being sent it, it will be vetoed
  • ALL MOVES MUST BE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC. The commissioners hold the power to veto any moves we deem to be ridiculous. Teams have clear organizational directions and players have fairly objective trade values - this is fantasy but we like to keep these games "realistic" - please respect that
  • A trade involving a NTC or NMC must be sent in by BOTH GMs with a reasoning for the player(s) to waive. The trade must be approved by BOTH JW and donut prior to posting in order for it to be valid. Keep in mind that many NTCs or NMCs will NOT be waived
  • The commissioners will provide a 5-8 team no-trade list for players with an unspecified LNTC upon request
  • If a team does not have enough cap space to complete a trade that has been sent in, the trade will be vetoed
  • Vetoed deals must be significantly restructured in order for them to be accepted
  • If a player waives his NTC/NMC, the clause will still be valid with their new team unless otherwise stated

Which one of us is running Chicago? ;) I see my name in the thread, and dabeast on the roster page.

Doesn't matter either way, just don't wanna waste time making a roster for them if it's not me lol

:vegas somewhat around (I had to unbrick my phone last night, it still isn't working great)

Looking for a 3/4 RD, preferably not a rental. Have picks, LDs (mcnabb, merrill) and some prospects (not glass or bannstrom) to move. May also add a defensive rental for the bottom 6

Also dealing depth pieces (merrill, Matteau, plukkinen) for assets, or change of scenery guys like carrier fora similar rfa

Still this

Max Pacioretty is in play for a top line center or top pairing LHD also in their prime. We could consider a package around a young center with top line potential.

Alex Galchenyuk could be traded but only for a young natural top 6 center. We are willing to add depending of the player.

Tomas Plekanec is available with 50% retention for futures.

We are listening to offers for Paul Byron and Charlie Lindgren.

Carey Price, Shea Weber, Jonathan Drouin and maybe also Brendan Gallagher are untouchables at the time being.

UPDATE : Plekanec and Lindgren could be traded tonight or early tomorrow. Send an offer quickly if interested.

:vegas has made a trade, pending ntc approval

Matteau otb for a similar player that's waiver eligible or already cleared waivers.

Still in the market for an RD, veteran 3rd liner, prospects. Making a playoff push, but not selling the farm for it. Trust in The Plan

Remain in the hunt for a top 4 d-man and have a few offers I'm mulling over. Picks(4 in the first 2 rounds), prospects and Brock Nelson as well as potentially Anthony Beauvillier can be had. Also in the market for a 3rd/4th line center good on face-offs as well as potentially a goaltending upgrade.

Zach Bogosian

:sabres

Mark Barberio

Avs will have to spend to reach the cap floor this off-season; Bogosian, if he can stay healthy, can potentially be a nice asset on the bottom pairing. Looking to move Seymon Varlamov and rebuild the goalie pipeline in Colorado. Blake Comeau is also available for a pick / prospect (want a mid-late 2nd) for teams wanting a quality 3rd line winger for the playoffs.

Columbus had a deal die, so back in the market for a #1 or 2 type center. Looking to package our 1st, a prospect and a roster player to make it happen

David Perron (1.5m retained)

The goal in Vegas is to make a playoff push, but not ruin The Plan.. our time is down the road as our young core grows. We lost scoring punch in Perron, but gain defense in the savvy vet Hartnell, plus add 2 solid prospects.

The Leafs were busy early in advance of the deadline, making a pair of major deals to solidify their defensive core. Kasperi Kapanen and Toronto's 2018 first round pick were dealt to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for defensive stalwart Niklas Hjalmarsson. The Leafs also announced the acquisition of right-shot defender, and impending RFA; Jacob Trouba from the Winnipeg Jets at the cost of Jake Gardiner and San Jose's 2nd rounder.

"We are very excited by the two deals we were able to complete today. Nik and Jacob represent long-term solutions to our organizational needs on defense. We view both as capable top pairing defenders, who complement each other quite well. While it was difficult to move Jake and Kasperi, it is a testament to the depth that our scouting staff and development team have created within the organization. The development of so many talented young players in the organization has provided us with not just results on the ice, but also a pool of quality assets from which we can use to address needs. The acquisition of Hjalmarsson made us better defensively, but further emphasized a legitimate hole in terms of right shot defenders. Trouba will bring many of the qualities Gardiner brought to the game, but we believe that there is more room for development there. Ultimately, we were able to land two guys capable of logging high -quality minutes without having to surrender top assets, which is very exciting."

:jets confirm Trouba-Gardiner deal.

Byfuglien and Wheeler are still available for younger players that can still fill their roles properly. Willing to add to deals for both of them. Connor could also be had for an older, more polished Top 6 winger. Comrie is also OTB. (Really anyone could be had except Laine and Scheifele but those are specific players I'm willing to move)

:stars
Looking for a top 6 winger and top 4 LD. Prospects/picks available; that includes Heiskanen. Only untouchables are Benn, Seguin, and Klingberg (though Klingberg could be had if a proposal for him blows me away)
