I mean if you're going to go literal there's very few actual safe players to buy a jersey of. The KHL All-Star was supposed to be the safest one possible signed for a thousand years and that didn't exactly work out. I'm just saying we don't even know if Bratt's going to keep 63 long-term, let alone knowing if he's going to be a contributor for long enough where you'll get mileage out of wearing the jersey.
I'm not mocking anyone but jerseys are kind of expensive, I'd rather be a little more positive the guy's at least going to be a long-term Devil contributor first (and that 63's not just a fad number) but that's just me.
It's not mocking, it's just an opinion we have.
You buy a Bratt or a Hischier or a Butcher jersey for $220 or whatever it costs and they're Jets or BlackHawk players in 3 years or out of the NHL, well.... it's their money and they're free to do with it as they wish. My 2¢.
Well if you were doing odds Hischier would be a lot less likely to be elsewhere in three years than the other two. And for the #1 overall pick I get buying the jersey before he ever plays an NHL game, there's a certain amount of pedigree that comes along with it and cache of being a face of the franchise.
And I love Bratt, I don't think he's going to be a flash in the pan. But Matt Taormina had a good 15-20 games too. Bergfors had a nice 20 or so game start to his career. It's not impossible Bratt jerseys become as short-lived as Kevin Maas Yankee jerseys in a couple years.
