I also think that if he pans out, it will be a spectacular story that the reason he wears #63 is because it was a crap, throwaway, high camp number, and he made the NHL anyway.

It's worth keeping #63 just to tell that story.
He showed up to our camp with a London Knights bag and stuff expecting to play for them.

One of the best stories in the NHL in recent memory.

would love to rewatch that if possible
I don't have a clip, but the one when they are yelling is at about 14:14 of the 2nd period when we're on the power play. They had been pressing high to cut off our zone entries, and Bratt picked the puck up around our blueline with some space in front of him and the Leafs defenders backed all the way into their own zone with one forward coming over to try and take him with the other in support. Lead to the only real zone time we had on that power play.

I like the #63 if for no other reason than the fact he's made such a big splash so early that I already identify with him as having that number. It's got that immediate recognition factor.

This, a billion.

Like when in the NBA, MJ was recognized with the #23.....JESPER will be recognized with the #63.

(and I meant as far as recognition....lol )

If he was a center in the NFL 63 would be perfect.

If he was a center in the NFL he would be in traction.

There is a not-unlikely chance he hits a wall at some point this season, but he'll get through it. I am very confident that he's the real deal moving forward. It's going to be fascinating watching how far he can take it.

I think he's the real deal, but can't really make a prediction on his long term point totals.

Either way, he could retire tomorrow and he'd be a successful 6th rounder just for making the NHL at all.

In the Church of Salmela
fake news on larsson being mad about rico on the rico/mama rico sportsnet interview

larsson has such dry humor, glad to know he and rico are still buds.

context:

7 minute mark, rico points out how larsson just sits there (hahaha). larsson goes in a comment on instagram "please don't talk about me again. thanks"
