Is he coming back to London? It looks like he's on fire right now eh?

I think if anything he goes down to the AHL (unless Shero and London management agreed OHL-NHL). The way Bratt was signed to an NHL deal then picked by London made me feel like there was always some kind of agreement there.

At this point, it seems like the one thing he needs to get used to is NHL size/speed. Might be better off getting pro experience in Albany vs. London.

I disagree. I think the best experience he can get is in the NHL where he is right now. Plus, it's not like he's "healthy scratch'd" everyday or something. He's a regular player in the lineup in every game. No need to send him anywhere except towards the opponent's net with the puck.

He's been playing in the 2nd with guys who are playing well, it wasn't a demotion.

Didnt he play with Hall or Mojo the 2 first games? I didnt watch the whole game last night but it seemed to me he was playing with 3-4th line players and what was worse, without any puck possession (just chip n chase). Not saying he is better than the top 6 just saying he will have problems in such environment. I basically agree with the scouting report on page one of this thread, if you play him with skilled players he will be playing to his strength.

Maybe im wrong but thats what i believe. =)

He started with Henrique and Hayes. Is Henrique not a good and skilled player? After Zacha, Johansson, and Hayes were benched to start the 2nd, he was put out there with Coleman and Gibbons to get some energy going, and they spent three entire shifts in the offensive zone before Hynes jumbled the lines a bit to put Gibbons and Coleman on separate lines. He played the 4th most of any forward last night.

He has 6 points in 5 games, and he's not going to get points every night, but he's proving he can be played on any line in any situation and fit in.

Even when he is not on the stat sheet he is creating plays and drawing penalties.

Good player.

Well it is kind of impulsive to buy the jersey already but hey to each their own.

I really don't get this attitude but okay. :dunno:

God forbid if some Devils fans want to show their support for one of their team's players.

But as you said....to each their own, right?

EDIT : To further elaborate, I don't really want to go around judging people on their decision to buy a jersey, especially if that Jersey belongs to a player who is playing beyond his years in Jesper Bratt. That's all I'm saying here.

6 points in 5 games is beyond belief. My observation was that when i looked he played on a line without any ambition to control the puck which forces a kind of game which doesnt play to his strength as a possession player. For sure Henrique is a good player, but what i saw was Bratt being used as a checking player which is a poor way of utilizing his skillset. As previously mentioned, their are most likely better players ahead of him in the depth chart but if any of these players would function good in a chip and chase game they should consider putting bratt in a situation to score points. He seems quite good at that when paired with players who plays a kind of game he can take advantage on.

Anyway, the kid has done more than ever could have been expected. Hope he and the devils can keep it going! =)

Because it's still not a 100% he's going to be the sort of player one invests the money in and typically wears a jersey of. It's still not certain he's even going to have a long NHL career. I dont care if you score 6 points in your first 3 games, or 10 points in your first 5 games, it's still 3 or 5 games. Hell, who's to say he wont be shipped off after 57 games with the Devils in a package for a defenseman. It's impulsive, as NJdevs26 says.

Well it's practically mocking those who buy the Jersey. That's what annoys me.

If he doesn't turn out how we would like for him to turn out as an NHL player, that's fine. But that's no reason to get on those who buy his Jersey to show their support.

I mean come on now.....really?

It's not mocking, it's just an opinion we have.

You buy a Bratt or a Hischier or a Butcher jersey for $220 or whatever it costs and they're Jets or BlackHawk players in 3 years or out of the NHL, well.... it's their money and they're free to do with it as they wish. My 2¢.

So don't buy a jersey of a current player because they might leave someday?

I mean if you're going to go literal there's very few actual safe players to buy a jersey of. The KHL All-Star was supposed to be the safest one possible signed for a thousand years and that didn't exactly work out. I'm just saying we don't even know if Bratt's going to keep 63 long-term, let alone knowing if he's going to be a contributor for long enough where you'll get mileage out of wearing the jersey.

I'm not mocking anyone but jerseys are kind of expensive, I'd rather be a little more positive the guy's at least going to be a long-term Devil contributor first (and that 63's not just a fad number) but that's just me.

Well if you were doing odds Hischier would be a lot less likely to be elsewhere in three years than the other two. And for the #1 overall pick I get buying the jersey before he ever plays an NHL game, there's a certain amount of pedigree that comes along with it and cache of being a face of the franchise.

And I love Bratt, I don't think he's going to be a flash in the pan. But Matt Taormina had a good 15-20 games too. Bergfors had a nice 20 or so game start to his career. It's not impossible Bratt jerseys become as short-lived as Kevin Maas Yankee jerseys in a couple years.
