There are probably 2 spots open that’s it

They have a handful of candidates

Bjork
Kuhlman
Senyshyn
Ritchie

Maybe
Frederic
Studnicka

Backes ?

Bjork healthy is a top 9 NHL player and Kuhlman will likely grab the 13th spot

Frederic & Studnicka are the future

Senyshyn the prospect wild card he will likely get a loooong look

Ritchie will get his opportunity

Cehlarik will be around

Backes probably not

I think the forward group is solid and those guys will collectively do well.

But 12 months ago none of us had a clue how TERRIBLE our 3rd line of kids would be everyone sucked big time first half of the year on that line JFK/Heinen/Bjork/Donato all bad. (Can't mention Cehlarik here because he wasn't given a chance early despite being the best player in camp.) It was worse than when we had Kampeinnen and Rinaldo on the 3rd line.

I don't think it will be a black hole again but we probably can't move Coyle up to DK's wing without risking the 3rd line being awful.

I think this is a make or break season for Senyshyn. Most prospects with his production in the AHL would be written off as busts by now but he was drafted to be a long-term project so I think it's ok to give him more rope and a longer look. I don't believe he's really NHL ready, but it's time for him to become a dominant AHL scorer. He's 21 now, he has two years of AHL experience. Time to take the next step.

He needs to be put in a position to take the next step. 3rd + 2nd PP unit is not it. It's time for first line + 1st PP unit + PK duties.

Just found this video last night.

He clearly has the talent and I want to see him with Krejci in camp.

nice touch on some, like the fact that he doesn`t appear to be a kid who hesitates to get to the front of the net. Now, easier at the AHL level but still. Clearly this is just a vid of his highlights so won`t illustrate his entire game but IMO, you can`t teach/force a player to have the drive to be willing to go to the dirty areas, they either do or don`t/won`t

I think that this video proves my point about his line mates. For the first 6 minutes you would see at least Cehlarik or Hughes out there with him with a majority of the time being both but then you take him away from those two and his numbers dropped.

Looks like Senyshyn can find soft areas in the slot and front of the net to get his shot off. I’d like to see Krejci or Debrusk passing it to him. Both Senyshyn and Debrusk aren’t afraid to go to the dirty areas, could be a really good second line. He showed all of this when he was called up at the end of the year, he’s a shooter and Krejci needs a RW that will put shots on goal.

Makes you wonder why he dropped like a stone
He looked incredibly uncomfortable sitting a draft

The body language, facial expressions, and most cringeworthy sweat above his lip was Silence of the Lamb disturbing

I'd have a big problem giving an unimpressive AHL winger guaranteed NHL spot purely because of his draft status. I'm mostly over the fact that this was a disaster of a pick and now I'm just looking at him as a hockey player. Not good enough to play in the NHL yet. Hopefully will be sometime soon.

Senyshyn would be the 3rd wheel on any line he would play. Sometimes, players look/get better playing with better players.

Senyshyn is above NHL average in size and speed. He showed he could score in junior.

He’s fast enough to get in spot to get pucks. Heinen is skilled and Coyle a board monster.

Think he would complete that line perfectly.

Let’s see what happens in camp.
