no i was calling you out regarding your statement that Nurse isn't a valuable young asset. Sure he's not at Troubas level but it's not like Trouba has a top pairing defenseman either after 3 full NHL seasons. He still has potential but hasn't shown that he will be a top pairing just like Nurse hasn't shown he can be 2nd pairing.
Less experienced defenseman always look better behind a true top pairing unit.

Nurse hasn't even shown he's an NHL quality player yet. Yes he has decent value, but he's closer to Josh Morrissey than he is to Jacob Trouba as a player

Trouba just doesn't have the offense for the Oilers to be moving quality assets. The Oilers back end is still a blackhole and he doesn't help that.
PP QB please.
I'd move Klefbom for Trouba(yes I know Jets fans wouldnt)
Then move Draisaitl for Fowler

Sekera-Larsson
Fowler-Trouba
Davidson-Fayne

Nurse, and Reinhart in the AHL

I don't think we wouldn't do it, I just think it comes down to both sides preferring their own guys. And yes, Trouba probably isn't the offensive dynamo you need. That's another reason why it just doesn't make sense...

I wonder how much Edmonton would have paid Buff if he had gotten to free agency, he's pretty much the exact player they need to really go deep

thats why it would be contingent on picking up Fowler who i hope has some more offense to his game.
Reuniting all the old Spitfires with Fowler, Kassian, and Ha.... :cry:

5x7 would be my max
I wonder if Chiarelli really is content this year to see if he can lure over Burns next summer

When Trouba has looked the best is when the Jets have had injuries and he's played on the top pair (away from Stuart!!!!). His production / stats during his time with Buff last year was very good. Buff and 4 forwards on the PP has kept Trouba's points down as he gets very little opportunities there.

Jets pass. Why? Because 6 million for RNH to be more than likely the 3rd line center doesn't work. Jets would rather keep Trouba. Lemieux is also highly thought of by the Jets. Lowry? Not sure. But jets say no. Don't think there's a match unless oilers want Myers

I also dislike this trade, but
Connor - Nuge - Dano sounds pretty sexy.

Maybe take out both Jets adds.

just out of interest's sake....

How does RNH take to playing 2 lines below a guy who was drafted after him?

How does Scheif take to a bit player makin the same money as him?

?

Is RNH in the OILER top 2 up the gut?

How is it possible that a team that drafted 3 #1 OVERALL!!!! centres still void of a legitimate number 2 centre?

You need some scouts to go with the rink.

To the bolded: Yes .. RNH is still #2C with Drai switching to RW.

To the rest : 3 x 1st overall Cs ? Pretty sure Yak and Hall were not drafted for down the middle C.

edit: makes sense now that I see "location: cowtown"

imo a Klefbom for Trouba swap is fair, provided we could negotiate his extension.

That does hurt to suggest it, I'd rather keep Klefbom for sure. But, it does balance things going forward. Larsson and Trouba on the right side. Sekera on the left, with Nurse taking the 2nd spot in the future, or maybe Reinhart if he takes a step forward. I know Sekera, Reinhart, and Davidson play both sides but imo it's better to have our LHD be left shots and our RHD be right shots.

We are flattered you consider Draisaitl to be a #1 overall pick. We still dont consider him as good as Ekblad but we do think hes better than Reinhart.

Here is how 'its possible' . Ready?

RNH = 23 years old.
McDavid = 19 years old
Draisaitl = 20 years old

Perhaps we might allow them to AGE a year or two before we pronounce the so called 'lack' of a 2nd line center.

I think this trade makes more sense than Jets fans realize.

As the season went on Davidson got better and better and when Klefbom was injured and Davidson was forced into playing on the first pairing his shot suppression and CORSI stats were incredibly encouraging. He's on a solid contract.

Lowry is a big bodied guy whose coming into his prime and it doesn't look like he's going to be a top 6 guy given how his offence hasn't really come along.... but I see him as a viable 3rd line C.

Trouba > RNH >>> Davidson >> Lowry

I think the value is good. And it doesn't leave either team compromised capwise.

I apologize. My bad.

I put Yakupov in the pile of very recent number 1 overall picks and forgot he wasn't at centre. I'll be honest, all the recent Oiler draft picks are kind of meh blur.

In my defense, I see the Oilers five times a year, and still haven't seen Yakupov yet.

Still not interested.

Why do the Jets trade their only young high-end D-man for a PP specialist centre who makes just as much as Trouba will?

Just... no.

The jets had a d-man 2 years ago come out of no where and played great (Ben chiarot). Only to come back down last year and just be an ok d-man (5-6 slot)

Davidson comes in and has a good year (all 51 games) and all of a sudden he's great. Let's see him repeat that for a full season before he's considered a great d-man.

Oilers fans are getting as bad as leafs fans

Lol Draisaitl for Fowler who else is Anaheim offering as well to Fowler to land Draisaitl the only way Draisaitl is getting moved is if Lindholm was coming back. And that's not happening.

It looks like RNH is staying an Oiler for awhile. Chiarelli and McLellan seem high on him and like building thier teams with a surplus of talented centers.

I hope so anyways.

Trouba is a bit over rated. Has been stagnant in his development and supposedly is asking for the moon in terms of a contract.

The most I would give for Trouba is Nurse and something small. Picks or prospects. Which I wouldn't even do with the expansion draft looming this year since Nurse is exempt and Trouba would not be.
