Flames were the better team of the of gate in every period but let the Avs take over the back half of every period. Part of that is getting high-sticked and hooked blatantly while the other team gets the calls and part of that is getting on our heels when the Avs top line pushes with speed.
Need to come back stronger on the puck and ready to keep the pressure high all period and need the Flames staff to go off on the officiating after this game. It's the same crew that's been called out already for garbage officiating in the playoffs.

This team will never go deep with Gaudreau as our top star player. And we could really use another top 6 center. Monahan isn't good enough to carry us a 1C. I don't blame him though, and moving him isn't going to help. Those types of players you get if you draft high or get lucky. No team just trades top centres much.

Monahan is not good enough. Great goal scorer but not as talented as you need a 1C to be. Really comes down to that for this team.

The Flames were dominated in OT. They did nothing on that power play. It gets said a lot but results in the regular season mean absolutely nothing.
