Kawhi has been consistently healthy throughout his career, though?
People continually fail to understand Kawhi’s character, do people even know his back story growing up? how his father was shot to death in the car dealership he used to spend his summers at as a childv? And how that scarred him
and motivated him to be a champion? He’s a quiet man, he doesn’t talk much, he isn’t after the records or fame, he just wants to play and win, name me another team where he has a better chance at doing that.
It just makes zero logical sense for Kawhi to leave after likely winning a championship when he can stay and go for back to back.
Boston, Milwaukee, GS, Philadelphia, Houston, Portland
Maybe some others depending on where the other stars end up.
Doesn’t answer the question, why would he leave the potential defending champ and a chance to win 2 in a row for one of those teams?
Because they offer him a better chance at winning. The Eastern teams are all going to get better and they needed a ton of luck to beat Philly this year and some terrible coaching by Bud to beat the Bucks.
They only have a chance at the title this year thanks to injuries and it is unlikely they get that kind of injury luck again this year.
Edit: they all offer him a much better place to live as well.
Imagine a healthy Dejounte-White backcourt with Kawhi. Other teams will struggle for 90The best place for Kawhi was San Antonio actually, it was litterally tailor made for him, too bad it ended badly.

What is the short version of what went wrong for Kawhi in San Antonio?

You've shown in your short time on this site, evident in your posting history, an extreme ignorance to and bias against everything Toronto.
An opinion, unresearched and rooted in envy and bitterness carries no weight.
The only chance at a Raptors title this year is thanks to injuries? Lol ya because it has absolutely nothing to do with how deep, talented and well coached the Raptors are. Lol what an absurd comment.
I think he stays at this point on a shorter deal and tries to go for another title next year. If he does leave, who cares? He is a Raptor/City of Toronto Legend and will be for ever! No hard feelings if leaves.
