Ohio State will not lose this year.
Strong statement. Game vs MSU will show where they’re at. Exciting to watch no doubt.

The SEC has always had permanent cross divisional opponents. Well, at least since they expanded in the early 90s. South Carolina's was Arkansas, but once Mizzou joined the SEC and were stupidly placed in the East, Mizzou and Arkansas became the permanent cross divisional matchup.South Carolina and Texas A&M is a protected "rivalry" for some reason.
South Carolina and Texas A&M is a protected "rivalry" for some reason.
And play for a trophy.
Wait, what?
It's because of the dumb divisional set up once aTm and Mizzou came into the SEC.It's bizarre, neither school has a history with one another and never played each other until 5 years ago. A lot of the South Carolina fans and alumni I know think it's bizarre too and would rather play Auburn, Ole Miss, LSU, etc.
Seriously. They’ve played 5 games against each other since 2014.
Well, I know that. But making it a trophy game that early in the "rivalry" is dumb in my opinion.
It's especially dumb considering it has lived in College Station it's whole life and will continue to do so for a long timeIt is.

When's the last time Indiana won 11 games or finished in the top 10 though? Because the SEC made this change after South Carolina was coming off 3 11 win seasons in a row. Here is how the trophy links the two schools from wikipedia:
"The trophy is named after James Butler Bonham, who was a South Carolina native and graduate of South Carolina College which is the prior name to the University of South Carolina. Bonham fought and died in the Battle of the Alamo which is why he became the missing link between the two schools to play for."
South Carolina has never been relevant enough to have nor demand a big rivalry. That's like Indiana wanting to be a rival with Ohio State or Michigan.
