@SabresProspects - Victor Olofsson scored his fifth goal (great release from right circle) and added a shootout marker (nice deke) as MODO edged VLH 4-3.

@MattKopnak - @SabresProspects - When do you think either Olofsson or Possler will make it over here to play in Rochester?

@SabresProspects - @MattKopnak - They'll get consideration at the end of this year. Their contracts with MODO are expiring so next year possible for one or both.

Olofsson's shot is elite. If he can get the rest of his game together he could turn into a nice little player. He is my favorite dark horse prospect right now.

‏@SabresProspects - Monday, December 28 -

Victor Olofsson gets his 6th goal of the season for MODO. That's goals in two straight games - points in three straight games.

Sabres Prospect - Gustav Possler with his 9th assist of the season on the same goal. MODO tied 1-1 with ÖHK in the 2nd Period.

@SabresProspects -
Victor Olofsson has five goals (one empty-net goal - two game-winning goals) in his last seven games.
He leads MODO with eleven goals - ten assists - twenty-one points.

Olofsson is awesome, he was a beast in todays game and scored the game winner in overtime. Probably the prettiest goal I've seen this season :) Hopefully it will find its way out on Youtube :) He also had an assist on the first goal and shot a lot.

Yeah, he is really making progress while Possler is unfortunately not. I hope we get to keep him another year in MODO but I guess Buffalo might want to get him over.

Olofsson Catches Fire - Sabres Prospects Report - Kris Baker - Sabres.com - Monday, February 8.

The calendar flipped to February, and just like that, MODO forward Victor Olofsson (2014, seventh round) caught fire with goals in three-straight Swedish Hockey League games, including back-to-back game-winners, to continue his recent developmental spike.

The 20-year-old sniper began the week with an even-strength tally in MODO’s 5-3 loss to Brynas IF. At 17:22 of the opening period, Olofsson drove the center lane unabated, accepted a pass from the wing and deposited his 10th of the year to make it a 1-1 game. On Thursday, Olofsson scored the game’s only goal as MODO edged Linkoping HC 1-0 for their second shutout victory of the season. Early in the second period, Olofsson entered the zone and set up at the right faceoff before burying a cross-ice feed with a bullet wrist shot for his second game-winning goal of the campaign.

Olofsson saved his best for last, ending the week Saturday with a regulation assist and a dazzling overtime marker in a 2-1 victory over the IF Malmo RedHawks. The multi-point effort was Olofsson's second of the season and third of his SHL career. Olofsson did it all himself just 49 seconds into the extra frame when he circled in the zone, played catch with a defender at the point, and cut to the net while flipping the puck to himself before roofing a high shot to end the game. The goal, Olofsson's sixth in his last eight games, gives him a team-leading 12 on the season. The productive stretch has vaulted him into the team lead with 23 total points.

Alexander Nilsson @aalexnil - Olofsson rumored to Skellefteå and Frölunda. Frölunda closest to sign him it says.

Kris Baker ‏@SabresProspects - Writing on wall for change w/ MODO struggling. Sabres have two more years of signing rights. Could always sign/loan.

Is he worth a contract?

Yes. I personally would like him to come to NA this off-season too, not a fan of leaving prospects in Europe for too long even if they aren't fully developed yet. If he won't be able to hold his own in the AHL now then he never will be, one more year of playing in the SHL wouldn't make much of a difference imho.

@SabresProspects - Saturday, March 5.

Victor Olofsson adds to his team-leading point total with an assist as MODO leads Karlskrona HK 1-0. Olofsson has 13 pts (7+6) in last 17 gp.

Gustav Possler scores his ninth goal of the year. MODO leads Karlskrona HK 2-1 in 2nd. Goal #9 ties previous best set last year.

Gustav Possler nets GWG while going over 22:00 TOI for the second time this season (51 games). Third GWG of the year ties Victor Olofsson for team lead.

Olofsson with a new solid insats, and a breakaway goal, for Modo. Lost 1-3 to Örebro in the last game of regular season. Now a 11-12 day break is due before relegation games.
