It's 28 days if they start on the 12th. If by some fluke Vancouver gets within striking distance of 4th, the league has no choice but to extend the regular season.
Nucks we're already boned in January with the way their schedule went from no preseason to 18 games in 27 days with 1 Goddamn practise.
People say quit making excuses but to literally go into the season still full of rust and then have no practise time never- mind the absolute stupidity for example going from Calgary, on a Saturday back to Vancouver for a game monday, then travel to Montreal for a game Tuesday, then play again Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, for six games in 8 days is brutal.
Given the circumstances it’s a potential full 14 day quarantine for the team. Or so that’s what was reported

I'm fine with canceling the rest of the season for us or bringing up the AHL team. Most important thing is the health of the players and keeping the cases contained.

This, health of the players first and foremost

Our season is over as far as competing anyways. . But games will still need to be played vs playoff position teams so put on hold all games vs Ottawa and Calgary and just play whatever team we have left against playoff teams

Canucks should pack it in for the season... is that allowed? A team just not play?... schedule would have to be adjusted obviously for remaining teams

Canucks should probably just shut it down, the after effects will leave these players sluggish if we play again in 2 weeks.. it’s just not worth it given where we’re at. Let the players recover and prepare for next season. Maybe a playoff bubble like last year will need to come in to effect, as that seemed to work well.

News has gone from bad to worse in Vancouver. Probably should just cancel their season at this point. It's been a complete shitshow for them.

They started the season with players on Covid Protocol, so just let it end.

Canucks management should be under fire for allowing a positive player to attend practice. Also Gaudettes wife should not be going out. Just plain stupidity but this is the Canucks as run by Benning so its expected.

Yeah at this point cancelling their season is probably best, the health of the players come first and this has spread uncontrollably. The Canucks aren't making the playoffs either so it doesn't have any crazy implications on the division, just sort by points %

Weren't the Jets the last team to play against them in Vancouver? I wonder if they will be hit too.
The Jets last played Vancouver on march 24th which was several days before any player tested positive, and have played the Flames and Leafs twice each since without a single positive test.

Canucks just need to wait their 10-14 days and reschedule or extend the season as need be. The NHL had contingency plans to extend if needed. Dallas, Buffalo and New Jersey have already dealt with this. Having said that, if the variant is a problem for younger people, then the entire NHL needs to consider shutting down.

I hope Gaudettes wife wasn’t so dumb as to have gone out . . Not sure what the league protocols are but Van continuing practice after a positive and then having another skate afterwards is the height of stupidity

They followed league protocol, nothing wrong with that. Just an unfortunate turn of events after

Might be a separate thread but should the trade deadline be cancelled? Given the Vancouver situation with the new variant should players be switching cities at this point let alone crossing the border. Imagine the variant getting into more large States.
