Even during that 2-3 game stretch where his scoring kind of exploded he really didn't look good, pucks were just bouncing off him into the right place lol I don't think he cracks the Leafs lineup when they're healthy especially if they do wind up adding a forward

Had he not scored three goals in three games a week ago, he would have been gone already. Frustrating player who doesn't excel at anything.

Has one of these college UFAs ever amounted to anything?
Depends on your definition of "anything" but there are a lot of guys who did good, or carved multiyear careers, and certainly some who amounted to something.

Adam Oates, Joe Mullen, Martin St. Louis, Mike Ridley, Greg Adams, Dan Boyle, Chris Kunitz, Dave Poulin, Brian Rafalski, Joel Otto, Andy McDonald, Jason Blake, Doug Smail, Brian MacLellan, Steven Reinprecht, Todd White, Mike Johnson, Doug Brown, Jeff Halpern, Jamie Macoun, Tyler Bozak, Danny Dekeyser, Torey Krug, Chris Tanev, Brandon Tanev, Mark Letestu, Matt Read, Teddy Purcell. Justin Fontaine had a very short but impressive career, while JT Brown and Matt Irwin put up unspectacular but surprisingly long careers.

Then you get draft ditchers like Justin Schultz, Kevin Hayes, if you want to count them, which is where Vesey would fall. Mike Reilly has put together a small resume, lately, and even Vesey's four years as a utility player, even if not the star people hoped, is a career most wanna-be-pro players would die for.

right now, the Canucks have some highly overpaid bottom 6 players that vesey can easily replace and it would be an improvement or at least, a lateral change at a cheaper price

Mildly sad to see him go. He wasn’t great or even good. But as a 13th forward I had no complaints. If someone is hurt he is a good guy to step in for a game or 2. He probably won’t do much to help you but he won’t hurt you either.
Decent penalty killer too but our penalty kill sucks anyway

Doesn't that make him even more useful to you guys? Just wondering.
