The media hype was a little bit much but IIRC, they didn't have much to talk about at the time. They definitely made him sound a lot better than he was/is.

Ya I just mostly remember NYR going nutty trying to recruit him by getting athletes/celebrities like Boomer Esiason, Noah Syndergaard, other New York athletes, Susan Sarandon and actors from Entourage to tweet him to join NYR lol... its actually crazy to read some of those older articles now.
