Tampa with Sergachev will get less than they hope for imo. They will trade him before he gets a 1st/3rd or 1/2/3 from a mid pack team. I think we offer something like 33, 52, 74, 2nd ‘21, Wolanin, B+ prospect (Batherson) as they’ll want a replacement in the blue line and Wolanin isn’t protected from expansion. Also Tampa could use the extra picks to make more moves to keep the core together.
I don’t understand the lack of enthusiasm behind Tychonic. He’s a fine prospect and most teams would love to have him, if not all. The chemistry he’ll have with JBD will help his career.
Wait, you'd offer three 2nd round picks (including the 2nd OA pick in the second round in THIS draft), a 3rd, Wolanin and Batherson?
Batherson is not a B+ prospect... Look how he has been ranked through the years and look how he dominated the AHL in his 2 pro seasons...
For me, guys like Batherson, Norris, Formenton and even Brown are "untouchable" at the moment, not because they are McDavids, but bc that would be selling low before they make their mark in the NHL and gain value (maybe tremendous value). Plus, Ottawa is a team that loves to grow his own talent.
That being said, now way I give Batherson, Wolanin and three 2nd round picks for Sergachev.
Brannstrom would also be regarded like that as well but in that case, you upgrade him with Sergachev so that is why he would be available in that particular trade. I would add on top of Brannstrom but not tons.
Regarding Tychonick, I have not given up on him, but at the moment, there's a lot of guys he will have to pass on the depht chart... He has long ways to go... We'll see how he looks in the AHL first.
CouLd Brown not be a really good second line center that is terrific on the PP? Give him some fast physical wingers that can put the puck in the net and i could see him being a 55 to 65 point guy. Thats a pretty darn good player.
And we won't really need Brown to be much better than that. Just a good 2nd line Center who is also a PP specialist. Like you said, he will need to play with 2 dynamic wingers who can score in different ways. Have to exploit Logan's strength : playmaking. Seriously, his passing game is way too good to not be a NHL player, just has to work gradually on the rest of his game. He has a pretty good shot too, will have to learn to use it as a weapon too to keep defenders honest.
That's why I think Formenton and Batherson could be great for him.
Tkachuk-Byfield/Stutzle-Raymond
Formenton-Brown-Batherson
And Josh Norris... don't even know where to put him.
