"Boy you're lucky to take that gun shot near the heart, because if you have some clogged arteries, they should find them during the surgery. You should be thankful to the guy who shot you."

Prepare to be disappointed boys. It's likely going to be packages of 1st round picks and magic beans (3rd round picks, former draft picks that havent really progressed all that well, ect).

We will then be sold on how many draft picks we have and how excited the organization is for our scouts to start building for the future. It is what it is.

If Karlsson doesn’t sign in SJ which it looks like he won’t, the Sharks could be in for an Anaheim type of fall.

Maybe a more progressive coach in SJ, but they have some big cloud storms ahead of the D isn’t there to get the puck up to those old forwards like it is with EK.

That 1st next year could be something. Could be nothing. Could be something.

Let's hope so, but they still have a good core. I think they would be pretty much be where they are right now (near the top of the West) even without Karlsson.

You never know though, it's something we can at least hope for.

Karlsson has been out for a while and they keep winning (6 game win streak atm). They likely won't be falling anywhere. That's a good team with a load of good players even without Karlsson.

The Sharks farm team is 26-11-2-4
Filled with players 23 and younger including a 20 year old goalie whose crushing it
Chekhovich is destroying the QMJHL

If the Sharks can’t sign EK... It gives Wilson 12 million dollars to play with

The Sharks are loaded

Oh man remember Sharks window closing 4-5 years ago? It's still closing while ours has closed, opened and closed again since then :help:

For those of you who follow prospects, who do you guys think ends up the better player, Jack Hughes or Alexis Laferniere?

Honestly if it were up to me zibanejad and Turris would be our top 6 centers and Karlsson would still be here.

Hoffman would be gone but personally not convinced he(her) harassed Karlsson in the first place.

Lafreniere by a significant margin.
Wouldn't say that.

Not a significant margin for sure, wouldn't think there is even a consensus. Both are having unbelievable years in their respective leagues.

Hughes looked significantly better at the World Juniors, both guys are 17.

So Dorion's ask is basically....

1st Round Pick
Top Prospect
Young Roster Player
Conditional Picks

Looking at the Karlsson return, conditional pick would probably be a 2nd/1st, not a guaranteed 1st. Top prospect is really subjective. If you ask Dorion was on the radio right now he'd probably say we got a "top" prospect in Norris from the Karlsson trade, but if Norris is nowhere near a Tolvanen.
