Anyway, Dubas this TDL, much like the off-season, he just went out and filled every hole this team had before the past 24 hours.

Leafs needed and got:

A middle 6 forward
Defensive depth
Goaltending depth
Grittiness
Players with defensive specialties

Leafs didn’t get the flashy option, but instead prioritized team fit and character. Leafs got Brodie instead of Pietrangelo and that’s worked out fantastically. Hopefully Foligno instead of Hall works out just as well.

Solid deadline. Foligno is a player we needed. Needed depth in goal and on D. Didn’t give up roster or prospects other than giving Barabanov a new lease on NHL life.

I was initially disappointed with the cost for Foligno, but I just don't see how we can complain with what Dubas has done overall here.

He has grabbed a complementary top 9 winger, PKing 4C, depth D, and goalie insurance.

Hard to be upset. Dubas has checked every single box for this team at the deadline while the others in our division stood mostly still. It's up to the team now, we have a legitimate shot.

A grade for sure.. solidified depth at all positions. In hindsight after seeing how the day unfolded the Foligno deal wasn’t as bad of an overlay as initially thought, which is really the only contentious issue from this.

Dubas did a threat job bolstering this teams playoff run potential and didn’t sacrifice any future pieces that can step into the lineup within the next couple of years

Meier ~ Nylander and Vrana ~ Mantha expect its even worse for them as Vrana is younger, more productive and has higher untapped potential than nylander imo
