Franson screwed again. If he stays healthy he gets more points than Clarkson this year.

If I were him I would be counting the minutes until Toronto is in the rear-view mirror

Hope he has a great year, I don't care about next year. Who knows maybe Nonis offers him an extension more than he is worth around Christmas time.

Great news for this season. Can't see him sticking around next year, though.

But I didn't think Nonis could sign Kadri, Raymond, and Franson. So who knows? I can see Franson signing for around $4.0 - I'd be more than OKAY with that.

If he leaves, he leaves. Players come and go. Rielly will have one more year as well as all the other defensemen. He's a replaceable asset.

Nice, but Franson is so out of here at the end of the year. We've treated him like ****.

Yeah, he signed for a low dollar figure rather than leave for Europe or force a trade a la Kessel because he feels shafted. He sure has a funny way of showing it.

So that's everyone! :)
everyone's signed. (Franson plays the last 2 games of pre-season). Time to march towards the cup!

Why are people saying he's gone next year? He's a RFA. The Leafs will have the option of walking away from the award, but that might be the best option anyway depending on the progress of Rielly, Percy, MacWilliam, Granberg. Lots of promise in the pipeline. No real need to worry.

Even if he does want to leave, we have options, we could sign someone else, play grannberg or Reilly or even macwilliam.

So where are all the talk and threads about how Nonis is a genius for signing Cody Franson? Isn't it only fair since there was a huge thread about his incompetence ?

Even though it's one year. Holy **** Nonis, May Ray and Franson for 3 million, good job.

Don't forget to add Paul Ranger to that list. Franson, Raymond, Ranger = $4 mil. :yo:

Nice, but Franson is so out of here at the end of the year. We've treated him like ****.

He'll still be an RFA at the end of this season, has arbitration rights. He's Leafs property unless we trade him. He'll be back.

No 13th forward for 10 games would be a little weird though.

Gotta give Nonis credit for knowing his job here. You can like or dislike what he did this offseason and for a while there I was nervous that he'd recklessly put himself in a jam he couldn't easily get out of, but with it all said and done he knew who he had to pay and who he had leverage to squeeze and he executed his plan as well as he could. I still disagree with parts of the plan, but that's very different from a month or two ago when I thought he might've screwed up his own plan.
